Dieter Edward Heyne (Avatar: Edward Tarber)
Dieter was born in 1966 and raised in Munich, Germany. Making first contact with computers
and programming in 1981 set the course for a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the
Technical University in Munich in 1991. In parallel he founded his first consulting company in
1988, which is still in operation, specializing in software architecture and design as well as
quality and security management.
Since 2007 Dieter is a frequent Metaverse traveller through almost all available grids,
evaluating their usability for education, collaboration and entertainment.
To provide a safe, simple and reliable entry level access to the metaverse, he started to create
his own web based virtual world platform from scratch ( http://www.cybalounge.com ) to be
accessed from the browser without any installation and plug-ins.
To provide a dedicated platform for educational uses, Dieter founded the METAVERSE
SCHOOL in 2017 and plans to start operation later this year.
A cooperation with a German college aims at providing a virtual learning environment for up to
40 student groups starting their courses next winter. Currently a prototype is designed and built
by a group of nine students, which will be ready in July.

Alyse Dunavant-Jones
Alyse Dunavant-Jones has known since high school that she
wanted to be a librarian, and that the MLIS degree was part of
the path to achieving her goal. After volunteering in the local
middle school library during high school, and then working in
a public library in college, she graduated with a bachelors
degree in English and a minor in Information Technology. Her
interest in digital libraries remained strong, and she started
looking at MLIS graduate schools. Shortly after entering the
iSchool Dunavant-Jones became enraptured with archives,
and knew she had to find a way to bridge all of her library and
archives interests. She’s now halfway through the MLIS
program exploring the best of both worlds.
