have their breeding seasons in spring
9. Weather warmer, and in some areas, the heat translates to drier
temperatures. This hot, dry time of year can lead to droughts, where water
is in short supply.
Heat that include spikes in temperature,
10. Heatstroke / sunstroke
• Most serious heat-related illness.
• Body's temperature is 104°F (40°C) or higher,
• life-threatening medical emergency.
• If not treated immediately,
• Heatstroke can damage multiple organs
like: Brain & nervous system
Example
Convert To (°F) & To (°C )
To (°F) = 20°C × 9/5 + 32 = 68 °F
To (°C ) 5/9 x (F - 32) (if value of F=98.6) = 37 °C
11.
12. Heat stress
• Body cannot cool itself enough
to maintain a healthy temp: (37 °C).
When it is very hot.
• where too much heat is absorbed by a
• person,
• plant or
• animal
• and causes stress, illness or even death. ... It can
also cause heat cramps, heat
exhaustion and heat stroke which may lead to
death.
13. Heat-Related Illnesses /
Types of heat injuries
By exposure to hot weather and sun.
Heat emergencies have three stages:
1. Heat cramps:
(painful, muscle spasms in the abdomen, arms, or legs when exercising or
working in a hot)
2. Heat exhaustion:
(fatigue and collapse resulting from prolonged exposure to heat.)
3. Heat stroke:
(A serious medical emergency whereby an individual's core temperature rises
to a dangerous level.)
