This document discusses a research project that aims to augment audiovisual archives by including immigrants in remix practices. The researcher proposes exploring how cultural diasporas could enrich and interpret audiovisual cultural heritage through new media strategies to support social inclusion. The project would involve workshops with immigrants and students to develop interface prototypes and tools for remixing content from the EUscreenXL archive, which aggregates audiovisual content from across Europe. The discussion section considers issues around supporting multiculturalism through media, empowering people through video remix, and ethics when working with vulnerable populations.
