11. An activist, Sahab, was at a demonstration for Tax Justice in Yangon, Myanmar.
When she came home, she thought it could have been done differently but had no
idea where to start. She opened her phone and entered facebook. One of her friends
had just shared an update of something called a “Campaign Star - a planning tool for
changing the world through demonstrations”.
She pressed the link and was redirected to a place called Global Change Lab. Here
she entered the Campaign Star. The Campaign Star asked Sahab reflective questions
like “What is your audience for your demonstration?” and she entered the answer. It
was not easy to answer all questions but she could see what others like herself had
done and therefore found it easier.
When Sahab was done she was happy. Now she had a plan for the demonstration!
She decided to submit her Campaign Star so other lab peers could give her feedback
later.
Before leaving Global Change Lab she noted that other users had tried an activity
called "Best skills for an activist" and they would have a meetup on twitter in a week.
She signed up for the meetup and decided to do the activity next time she visited
Global Change Lab.
She closed facebook and looked up - now she had a demonstration to make!
