27. Appreciative
Inquiry
... is a process of inquiry and action …
the creation of future realities
... is built on combining the best of
our past with our hopes/aspirations,
assets, opportunities and core values.
38. Best Learning Experience
! There is nothing quite like a really great learning
experience. Sometimes our best learning experiences
happen at school and sometimes they happen in other
settings.
Think about a time when you were learning something
and it was so interesting that you loved it and just didn’t
want it to end. Sometimes a great learning experience
involves hard work, but you are willing to do the work
because you see yourself improving and you are excited
about your progress.
Tell the story of one of your very best learning
experiences.

The words we use guide what we notice, and how we interpret our experiences\n
• research in a wide range of social sciences demonstrating the impact of positive images in the creation of the future\n
Hopeful imagery, embedded in discourse, attracts energy and mobilizes intention and action\n
Inquiry and change are not separate.\nThe questions we craft guide conversations, shape what people discover and pursue, and instill certain images/expectations of the future.\nSince every question into a social topic begins a conversation that creates, maintains or transforms a way of being and doing, there is no such thing as s “neutral” question.\n
