Customer engagement is a vast space ranging from anything marketing and business to just a simple interaction between people. Identifying the 5 critical elements in any kind of person or customer engagement provides the overall vision of what is needed to successfully engage people.
Those five critical elements of customer engagement include:
1 - the Human element
2 - the Credibility Element
3 - the Communication Element
4 - the Relevance Element
5 - the Experience Element

2. Element 1: The Human Element.
We are Human.
People are real. They don’t want to be a number
but they want a relationship that works best for
them.
3. Element 2: The Credibility Element.
Credibility Really Matters.
People rely on trust. Imposters are not credible
nor welcome – people do business with people
they trust most.
4. Element 3: The Communication Element.
Communication is Key.
People talk. They share quite a bit about
themselves and they are looking for the same
thing in return.
5. Element 4: The Relevance Element.
Relevance is Vital.
People have a life. Don’t waste their time with
irrelevant messages – engage with ones that
relate to them.
6. Element 5: The Experience Element.
Experience Trumps All.
People don’t forget. They want a memorable
time they can treasure and share with countless
people.
7. Crowdsourcing the next presentation.
Inspired by two people, Godin and Tenno. Godin who said that in the future Amazon
will act as a crowd sourced publisher, where if enough people list themselves as
buyers of a future novel by a specific writer, Amazon will commission this novel, sell it
and distribute it. Tenno, for proving Godin’s vision works through several social
channels. I am looking to further this practice through this work.
As Tenno did, I am suggesting that if enough people add a comment to this
presentation or send a mention/tweet via @JohneEMerritt, I will put together a larger
presentation and hopefully create a piece of content that would be valuable to both
colleagues and clients, agencies and brands, marketers and executives.
I am aiming for about 50 in total, so please comment or tweet if you want it all.
