5. MG investment products and services
At MG we understand that people have different
needs from their investments.
Transferring your stocks and shares
and cash ISAs to MG
We have a wide range of products and services to
suit a variety of investment needs. Whether it’s a
tax-efficient ISA, a regular savings plan or lump sum
investment for children or for retirement, we have the
product for you.
You can also transfer ISAs held elsewhere to MG.
They can be transferred in their entirety, or in
part, to any MG fund that best suits your current
investment needs.
Visit www.mandg.co.uk/investments to find out
more about our different investment vehicles and how
you can tailor them to suit your requirements.
The MG ISA
One of the greatest advantages of investing through
The MG ISA is that it provides a flexible, tax-efficient
investment. It is easy to top up your ISA with a lump
sum or adjust your regular payments to your ISA; just
visit our website any time at www.mandg.co.uk/info
or call our Investment Helpline on 0800 389 8600,
from 8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, and
9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday.
Please remember that prices may fluctuate and
you may not get back your original investment. ISA
tax rules may change in the future and ISA tax
advantages depend on your individual circumstances.
We are unable to give you financial advice. If you
are unsure about the suitability of your investment,
speak to your financial adviser.
ISA subscription limits
The maximum that can be invested in an ISA is
currently £11,520 in any one tax year (6 April – 5 April).
This can comprise up to £5,760 in a cash ISA, with
the remainder in a stocks and shares ISA, or the full
amount in a stocks and shares ISA. MG offers the
stocks and shares ISA only.

Making the most of your MG investment
You may be unhappy with the performance from
another provider, or would prefer to get all your
investments together under one roof. Perhaps your
personal investment objectives have changed since
you first invested? Whatever your reasons, when
you transfer your ISAs to MG they will retain their
tax-efficient status, and will not affect your ISA
allowance for the current tax year. We will contact your
existing provider on your behalf, and we won’t charge
you a penny to transfer.
Visit www.mandg.co.uk/transfer for more information
or to download the relevant form, Key Investor
Information Documents and Important Information
for Investors document, or call our Customer Relations
team on 0800 389 8600.
Please note that your current provider may apply a
charge when you transfer your investment, and that
while your investment is being transferred, it is out of
the market for a short period of time and will not lose
or gain value.
6. The MG Junior ISA
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, godparent or
friend, one of the best ongoing presents that you can
give to the children in your life is to invest some money
for them that can be left untouched until they are adults.
Our recently launched MG Junior ISA is a taxefficient vehicle for use when investing on behalf of
a child, either in a lump sum or regular instalments of
£10 or more. The allowance per child will be £3,720
each tax year, and is available to all UK resident
children who do not have a Child Trust Fund (CTF)
account. Like The MG ISA, The MG Junior ISA can
hold bonds, equities, cash and even property shares,
giving you even more flexibility over the future of your
children’s long-term savings.
Junior ISA tax rules may change in the future and
Junior ISA tax advantages depend on individual
circumstances.
Visit www.mandg.co.uk/junior to find out more about
The MG Junior ISA.
The MG Savings Plan
We know some people would prefer to make a regular,
small investment instead of putting a lump sum away.
Maybe you feel this way too.
For many of us, regular savings are the most reliable
way to generate capital for ourselves and our families.
If you invest regular amounts, you can build up
substantial capital sums over the medium to long term
and you can smooth out the ups and downs of the
market. If the share price falls, your contribution will
purchase a larger number of shares at a lower price.
And if the price rises, this larger holding of shares will
make your investments more valuable – although of
course, your contributions will buy you less. There is no
overall investment limit in The MG Savings Plan, and
you can invest from as little as £10 a month.
Turning your individual company
shares into an investment with MG
The MG Share Exchange Scheme
If you hold any individual company shares in your
portfolio, in addition to your MG investments, you
will know the potential advantages of investing in
equities. You may also be aware of the characteristics
of holding individual shares directly. A portfolio
containing individual shares:
• may leave your investment exposed to a greater
degree of risk
• can be more expensive to buy and sell
• cannot provide you with the extensive research
capabilities that can be provided by an investment
management company such as MG
The MG Share Exchange Scheme offers you an easy
way to turn your individual shares or gilts into an
investment in MG’s extensive fund range – either
directly via an OEIC or within an ISA wrapper – so you
can enjoy all the advantages of a ‘pooled’ investment
with all the management expertise of MG. All you
need is a minimum of £1,000 worth of shares or gilts
to get started.
Please remember that prices may fluctuate and you
may not get back your original investment.
Visit www.mandg.co.uk/exchange or call our
Investment Helpline on 0800 389 8600 to find
out more.
