The Curie Point At Convergent Boundaries, Mountains,...
Thesis: At convergent boundaries, mountains, volcanoes, and other natural things can occur because
when the plates collide, one plate is forced above the other and this happens because of the density
and composition of the minerals and elements in the plates.
Story:
To start on our journey Jay and I started out towards magnetic north using our GPS (global
positioning system) on a beautiful mountain in the great state of Hawaii. You don't realize how
beautiful nature and the world is until you get out and experience it with your own eyes. To even
think that magnetic reversals can happen at any given time and change the way we would be headed
on the mountain is insane. The Curie point can show why the magnetic field changes. The ... Show

Jay and I look into the sky again but this time thinking about how far away we are from the Sun we
are from here on Earth. The Titius–Bode relationship helps us learn how the spacing is possible in
which it is all mathematical. Spacing–wise, if one were to stand on the sun and measure the distance
to each planet in the Milky Way Galaxy, someone would find that each planet would be almost twice
as far from the sun as the planet before. All of the planets orbiting the sun are rotating in a ecliptic
which is a oval shaped invisible ring that each planet has and follows. When Earth was still forming,
the iron catastrophe took place, making the material Earth would be made of turn into a spherical
mass. Ultimately, the earth is made of a hot iron core and the outer "shell" of the Earth is called the
lithosphere, also known as the crust or, that conveys many different things. As Jay and I walk slowly
up the mountain, climbing the so called lithosphere, we think about why we have different types of
hydrogen atoms. Some hydrogen atoms are safe like the hydrogen in water but others can be lethal
like in hydrogen bomb. This thought can be backed up with the research that the same element can
have a different number of neutrons in their nucleus and with those radioactive elements they are
called unstable isotopes. The weight of one of these atoms is calculated by mols. To calculate mols,

Personal Boundaries
Boundaries in a person's life are very crucial. Many people live their life day to day with no
boundaries. Individuals might see others and think that nothing is wrong with that individual, but
deep down inside, those people are beyond broken. This is a quote by Edgar Allan Poe, "The
boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the
one ends, and where the other begins?" This quote means that individuals can set boundaries all they
want, but people are soon to forget about those boundaries that they set. People go back into their
old habits of not having boundaries and do whatever they feel like. Individuals should start standing
up for what they believe in, not care about the world, and the judgment that others will receive.
Boundaries that I need to set in my life are anxiety problems, spiritual, and friendship boundaries.

Individuals want to be able to do whatever they want, but God sees everything we do and
individuals need to stand up and do what is right. In Matthew 5:28, it says "But I tell you that
anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." This
verse is telling individuals that when a man looks at a woman in a sexual way that is not his wife, he
has committed adultery. People need to set spiritual boundaries for themselves and follow the Lord's
commandments. I need to make smart decisions and not follow worldly values. If I follow worldly
values, then I would be a messed up person. In the book "Boundaries", it says "But if we do our
work, and God does his, we will find strength in a real relationship with our Creator." This quote is
saying that if we do our work here on earth and God does his in heaven, then we will have a more
strong relationship. My life would be different if I stopped caring about everyone else around me
and live for the Lord like He has called me

Boundary Boundaries And Boundaries
A boundary is defined as "the edge of appropriate, professional conduct" that differentiates between
behaviour that is appropriate in a professional capacity, and behaviour that is not (Guthiel, 2005, p.
89; Allen, 2001). Boundary issues may arise around the professional external boundaries that are set
including role issues, time, place, money, and physical and sexual contact, among other things
(Guthiel, 2005). For most clients, a customary therapeutic relationship developed around these
boundaries is all that is required; but others, mostly the more disturbed clients, require engagement
that goes beyond the standard model (Waldinger, 1994). Boundaries then become difficult to define
as it is not possible to codify all aspects of human interaction ... Show more content on

Boundaries are fundamental in providing a safe foundation for the therapeutic alliance that is critical
to, and the best predictor of, the successful outcome of therapy (Speight, 2011; Smith & Fitzpatrick,
1995; Bender, 2005). Boundary crossing evokes potential for misalliance when a therapist places the
gratification of their personal needs above that of the client's and essentially sets the therapist
against the client or creates an unhealthy dependency (Simon, 1992; Speight, 2011; Guthiel, 2005;
Schoener, 1998). There is a one–way power dynamic that naturally develops as a result of how the
relationship between therapist and client functions which creates serious consequences for the client
should the therapist engage in negligent practice and harmful boundary crossing (Smith &
Fitzpatrick, 1995; Simon, 1992). This includes anger, loss of self–esteem, depression, and other
psychological distress experienced by the emotionally vulnerable client; and can also result in
distrust of professionals when the integrity of a relationship is not preserved (Schoener, 1998;
Aravind, Krishnaram & Thasneem, 2012). The result of a harmful boundary crossing could be a
missed diagnosis, the use of an inappropriate technique, and the worsening of the original
psychiatric condition; all of which could lead to premature termination which of course is far from
beneficial for the client and undermines what good

The Sorites Paradox And The Epistemic View
solution to it.
The Sorites Paradox begins with the problem that if one looks at a vague term such as a heap, at
what point is it no longer a heap if you keep taking grains of sand out of it. The same can be said for
cattle, if one keeps removing cattle from a herd when will it no longer be a herd. The Sorites
Paradox is paradoxical because all the premises appear to be true as well as the argument being valid
(the conclusion really follows from the premises); yet the conclusion appears to be false. In which
case there must be a problem with one of the premises in order for the conclusion to be false,
however it is very difficult to see which premise is false. One proposed solution to the problem is
the Epistemic view.
There are two versions of the argument the many–premise version and the two–premise version.
The keys steps in the many–premise version of the Sorites Paradox are as follows:
(MPS) (1) 1,000,000 grains of sand make a heap; (2) If 1,000,000 grains of sand make a heap, then
1,000,000 – 1 (= 999,999) grains of sand make a heap;
So
(3) 999,999 grains of sand make a heap.
(Morris, 2016)
The argument begins with 1,000,000 grains of sand which can obviously be seen as a heap. One
grain of sand is subtracted each time e.g 1,000,000 – 1 = 999,999 grains of sand, with the conclusion
following that 999,999 grains of sand make a heap. This seems a valid argument as the conclusion
follows from the premises and it is clear that 999,999 grains of sand being

Boundaries Of Morality
There are no definite boundaries, standards or definition to determine whether an action is
considered moral. The same action under different circumstance or environment may result in
different beliefs whether it's moral or immoral. Something that's moral doesn't necessarily means it's
ethical either. What makes a moral action moral is that the person performing the action did it with
good intention and foresees a positive outcome. Even though, the action may have been unethical or
puts another person at risk. Referring to Julie's post about stealing medicine to save a life which
could result in taking away someone else's life. In an ideal world, a life is a life, no one's life is more
precious or valuable than someone else's life. But we are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If we look at the past, we have some historic immoral events like Slavery,Holocaust and Pearl
Harbor. If we look at the present, we have recurring events like rape, murder and bully. I'm sure we
can all agree that these events are immoral. With that in mind, I see two parties within all the events,
the perpetrator and the victim. It's important to identify them because without one or the other, it
would not be possible to discuss whether it is immoral or not. What constitutes as immoral is when
the perpetrator takes away something of importance from the victim. Mostly, things that are
intangible like their freedom, lives or a violation of their basic human rights. Another way to
identify an immoral act is by questioning yourself, will a reasonable person perform the same action
the perpetrator did. Who constitutes as a reasonable person? A reasonable person is a person who
exercises average care, skill and judgement. If a reasonable person cannot perform the same action
because it is against their beliefs or feels guilty for committing such action, then the action of the
perpetrator is immoral. But when are immoral actions ethical? Wars, it doesn't matter what excuse a
person may have, they cannot justify killing another human being. Although, it's immoral but it is
also ethical for the soldiers to fight and kill to protect their country and their family. Or do you think
it's wrong for soldiers kill to protect what they value the most? I believe it is the right thing for
soldiers to do whatever they can to ensure their family have a safe place to

Boundaries In Beowulf
Humans Create Their Place in the World Through analyzing Beowulf, there is a common theme
throughout the book of proximity and transgression of boundaries. The author creates the proximity
of boundaries by having the Hall, (good), within walking distance of the forest, (bad), and the
transgression of boundaries by having Beowulf enter the mere. These examples within the text
correlate to boundaries that are seen within our modern world. Proximity of boundaries can be
viewed by the closeness of industry and community, and the transgressions can be seen with foreign
interference. These transgressions and proximities of boundaries illustrate how humans create and
protect their own place in the world by controlling proximity and transgressing boundaries when
necessary. In Beowulf, there are several boundaries that have an extremely near proximity to one
another. The most evident example of the proximity of boundaries is the forest and Hrothgar's Hall.
The forest was seen as a, "dark," and mysterious place that was associated with the evil creatures in
the book, whereas the Hall was associated with celebration and a sense of safety for the people. The
Danes built Hrothgar's hall with the realization that the forest was in close proximity to their place
of safety. This example illustrates that the Danes created their place within their environment.
Although there are some set boundaries that humans have no control over, such as night and day,
there is a large impact on how humanity creates boundaries and their place in the world. In our
modern–day world, there are numerous examples of how humans have pushed the limits of creating
boundaries within close proximity of one another. In Andrew Blackwell's novel, Visit Sunny
Chernobyl, he explores a refinery town within Texas called Port Arthur. Blackwell explains the
overwhelming proximity of the refineries to the city of Port Arthur, and even gives an example of a
child's playground and the immediacy of the refineries. He states, "Several hundred yards beyond
the playground were the storage tanks of the Motiva refinery, and beyond them the refinery itself,"
illustrating that humans created a refinery, associated with pollutants and darkness in our society,
within

The Use of Images in William Carlos Williams', The Young Housewife
As is typical of most Modernist poetry, William Carlos Williams uses very specific images in "The
Young Housewife" to reveal not merely a particular circumstance or event, but to also suggest
underlying themes and ideas of his subject matter. For example, he gives to the reader various real
and imagined images, such her moving about in negligee behind closed doors, or her going about
her daily affairs, that are at once very seductive and suggestive of ideas that supercede their
appearances. These images especially accentuate the young housewife's naturalness and beauty.
However, they are quickly contrasted by a comparison drawn by Williams of the young lady to a ...

If the leaves are separated from the tree, they quickly lose their color and texture, drying up until
they are brown and brittle, and die.
Taking this into consideration, we can now move on to what we know about Williams' young
housewife. Truthfully, very little is mentioned about her except, of course, her relative age and her
marital status (for some reason these two things just seem to jump out of the text). It is very clear,
however, that Williams does not limit the young housewife to these two aspects of her life, but also
emphasizes other aspects–in particular her natural beauty and sexuality, and her separation and
isolation from the outside world.
It is evident that "The Young Housewife" is a very sexually charged poem. Through its subject
matter, its language, its imagery, and even its use of phrasing, Williams accentuates the young
housewife's seductive and almost unrestrained nature. For instance, He describes her moving about
behind closed doors, dressed in negligee, or going to the curb un–corseted to call ice–man, or
allowing her hair to hang freely, only periodically tucking it in. All of these images suggest strongly
that the young housewife is a natural and unrestrained character. She is free any imposed social
constraints that has the power to squelch her pristine and almost wild nature.
This sense of unrestraint of the young housewife, however, is purely essential, and not actual or

Species Boundaries
Within the study of evolution, the concept of a species and the mechanisms that create and maintain
species boundaries are very important. In order to understand the fossil record and how a species
can split into two or more separate species, researches must first define what they consider a species
to be. There are two main competing theories about species, the biological species concept (BSC)
and the ecological species concept (ESC). The biological species concept states that gene flow is the
key to keeping groups cohesive and isolated. A species is considered to be a group of interbreeding
organisms that are reproductively isolated from other groups of organisms. Therefore, members of
each distinct group cannot mate successfully with other groups. Gene flow is what ... Show more

Also, some species remain the same with out gene flow between groups (Boyd and Silk 2000:97–
99, Ridley 1993:393).
Natural selection acts as reinforcement to prevent dissimilar groups from producing hybrid species.
Since hybrids are less fit, selection favors behavioral and morphological adaptations that prevent
mating between groups. Reinforcement acts to reduce gene flow between groups in order to reduce
the number of unfit offspring which reproductively isolates species to the point where they cannot
interbreed at all. In the case of mules, who are hybrids of horses and donkeys, they are not less
capable of competition with other animals, but they are less fit because they are unable to reproduce
and get their genes into the next generation (Boyd and
Silk 2000:103, Ridley 1993:394).
In actuality, these two species concepts are not very distinct and neither is more valid or useful. Both
theories can explain the mechanisms that cause different species to arise and remain distinct. If
populations are not being selected upon, then gene flow is the mechanism keeping them separate. If
selection is very strong, then it is probably the factor that is isolating

How Does A Plate Boundary When Earthquakes Occur
Plates, when plates move earthquakes occur, and volcanoes activate. How would you feel if you

How do you think the Jalisco block feels? There are two types of plate boundaries that causes
volcanic and earthquake activity and as a scientist I was determined to find out. The boundary could
be either divergent or convergent. Divergent is when the boundary is moving the plates apart and
soft, solid rock will fill the gap forming a mid–ocean ridge. A convergent boundary is when a plate
boundary brings plates closer to each other and create a trench. I think the cause of all this activity is
caused by a divergent boundary and I can prove it. Divergent movement of the Jalisco block away

Social Boundaries
As a result of this, hierarchies or other patterns of cooperation within the boundaries comes into
existence. In extreme cases, different boundaries are merged together, thus replacing independent,
already existing ones. During their advancement processes, a number of controversies confront the
social boundaries. For instance, they can be obstructed such that their existence and progress
becomes endangered. This usually happens when interaction fails to take place in a given group.
Tilly claimed this to be a major problem, since it becomes almost impossible and complicated to
know when the barriers become open, and allow free interactions to take place (Tilly 2005: 7, 32).
Secondly, he warned that sometimes it becomes unclear to detect when the boundaries lose their
importance and values. This uncertainty state about the tight closeness between confinements and
the society members can be confusing, since one can never know how deep the bound is and a slight
mistake can be the origin of complex difficulties in the society. Tilly clarifies the doubts becomes
easier to understand when people are unified after being divided either through wars, conflicts and

that being in a position to comprehend the boundary construction systems is not an easy task, due to
the regular change thatoccurs to them. This adjustments are noted when certain situation of
circumstances challenge the social confinements (Tilly 2007:

Crossing Boundaries
The essentiality of being able to reach one's full potential is not easy to achieve, or rather, it's
something difficult to encounter. It stimulates individuals to test themselves to the fullest, seeing
what they could achieve and how they could do it. To be able to reach one's full potential means to
leave their comfort zones and leave behind a life that was known. By doing so it alters one's
viewpoint of how they perceive the world into something completely different. The texts that
present these factors include "Mao's Last Dancer" by Li Cunxin and "Then and Now" by Oodgeroo
Noonuccal, where both share similar properties that relate to crossing boundaries and the challenges
and risks that come with it which would eventually lead them to reach their full potential. Several
aspects that come into accord between two texts is how both author's pursue their dreams in forms
of creative arts. Noonucccal placed her experiences into a form of poetry, expressing her thoughts

described hinted strongly that she enjoyed Aboriginal culture, whereas her description of colonised
Australia is mildly bitter, showing that euphemism was used to replace her harsh thoughts. Crossing
boundaries to reach one's full potential has to allow an individual to feel content with their efforts. In

The setting of Jane Austen's novel Persuasion is set within a period where society's class boundaries
have become more open than they once were. During the novel, characters like Sir Walter Elliot and
those who are a part of the aristocrat society cling to the old structure of class. For instance this can

Walter Elliot is Austen's tool in Persuasion to poke fun at the aristocracy by making him incredibly
vain as he only agrees to associate himself with people of high birth or those who are attractive. This
is demonstrated when the Admiral and Mrs. Croft become the tenants of Kellynch Hall. Sir Walter is

Pacific and Australian Plate Boundary
The boundary between the Pacific Plate and Australian Plate is marked by volcanism, earthquakes,
and different and unique topography. The border of these two plates is composed of a mix of
transform and convergent boundaries along the Eastern edge of the Australian plate, with both
divergent and convergent boundaries along the Northern edge. The Australian Plate is moving in a
North to Northeastern direction at a speed of approximately 7 cm /year (although the continent of
Australia only shifts by approximately 5.6 cm/year) [1][7]. Meanwhile, the Pacific Plate moves
towards the Northwest at a speed of also approximately 7 cm/year (at least the speed of the
movement of Hawaii). [7] Each plate subducts beneath the other at some points along the boundary,
which contributes to some of the different volcanism and topographical features along the plate
boundary.
One of the major features of the Western edge of the Australian/Pacific plate boundary is the Alpine
Fault. This is a transform or strike slip fault, running approximately 600 miles up the South Island of
New Zealand. The Alpine Fault is considered to be a visible, "on–land" boundary of the two
constituent plates, and also marks the transition from a transform to convergent boundary. The
Alpine Fault also ruptures, which leads to seismic activity as well as considerable horizontal
movement, up to 30 m every 1000 years. This horizontal movement causes

have to maintain a professional boundary while serving their clients, yet violations continue to
occur; but to maintain professional boundaries, it is the responsibility of both parties to understand
the boundary limitations. Introduction: There are responsibilities and expectations regarding trust
and ethical behavior in professional client relationships. Professionals and client develop a
relationship base on trust, compassion, and mutual respect. Boundaries means effective and
appropriate interaction between professionals and clients they serve. Boundaries exist to protect
both the professional and the client. The ability to create, and maintain boundaries are often critical,
but professionals make the judgment in their own freedom; however, both professionals and client
should understand and respect the limit of the relationships. A professional should be competent to
set appropriate boundaries without harming professional–client relationship, and they should be able
to recognize boundary issues in the early stage. There is always a fine line that determines the
limitation of professional and client relationship, which could be applied in other similar
relationships such as professors–student relationship. Dan Morgan illustrated with some of the
examples of ethical issues raised by the student's personal writing. Though, there is a set guidelines

Thus, boundaries allow the explorative process to continue. As the helpee may be not used to this
kind of framework and unaware of the importance of keeping the limits, it becomes helper's
responsibility to set up and manage the boundaries as well as to recognize the dilemmas that are
inherent within them.
The agreement on the boundaries concerning therapeutic relationship is beneficial for both the
helpee and helper. Boundaries preserve the therapeutic relationship by ensuring that a helper
understands the need to and can keep separate his personal and professional life. Counsellors, or
helpers who are able to maintain healthy boundaries do not carry the problems of their clients
around with them during leisure hours. They know how to say no, which allows them to keep a
balance in their lives. A helper that takes care of himself and knows where to draw the line is in a
position to provide a higher standard of service to his helpees, than a helper who blurs the
boundaries between personal and professional relationships and feels overwhelmed as a result.
Moreover, by making the distinction between a therapeutic relationship and social relationships, a
helper is able to retain a level of objectivity that a friend would struggle with if you went to him

Boundaries In The United States And The Galapagos Islands
A constructive boundary is a boundary that seems to add to the surface of the earth, one example
would be mountains. These plate boundaries include continental–oceanic boundary, oceanic–oceanic
boundary, and continental–continental boundary. For continental–oceanic convergent the oceanic
sinks under the lighter continental plate and then melts into magma, this magma rises through the
crust to form volcanoes. An oceanic–oceanic convergent boundary creates volcanic island chain, by
the subduction and melting of one plate then magma rises through the crust to form islands and
volcanoes. A continental–continental convergent boundary is where two continental plates collide
and neither of them are dense enough to subdue so the wrinkle up to form mountains. One example
of this is the Himalayan mountains which are formed from the Indian continental plate pushing into

External Boundaries
Every individual has their own boundaries. These external boundaries allow people to know their
limitations on other individual. It allows a person to know until where can an individual push things
and not hurt another person. However, when an individual imposed their own boundaries to another
person, it makes an individual feel like he/she lacks his/her own independence. Although, sometimes
the way we act towards these boundaries depend on how we view it. In the poem "I Know Why The
Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou, and the biblical story "The Prodigal Son", both characters
demonstrates the impact of their external boundaries on their actions to find and feel the freedom
that was exploited from them. However, in my own experience external ... Show more content on

In the poem "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou, the poem demonstrated a
sample of external boundary being imposed on an individual. For instance, a line in the poem states,
"his wings are clipped and his feet are tied." The bird in a cage can be assumed that it is a metaphor
of a person dealing with external boundaries. This individual feels like he is imprisoned by someone
else's boundaries and he is unable to do anything about it. "So he opens his throat to sing." This line
shows how the bird persevered to get out of his current condition, but no matter how much he tried
no one was able to help him. Due to the fact that he sings he fearful trill. The outcome of his action
made the bird feel impotent because nothing happened to him. Additionally, when an individual
believe that he is powerless, it makes him feel like he is living in a sorrowful life. "His shadow
shouts on a nightmare scream." This line demonstrates that the bird is feeling miserable and
remorseful because he cannot change anything about his current situation. This section also shows
how the bird feels scared because the line states how he is screaming in a nightmare. Therefore,
having a boundary that is being imposed on an individual makes this person feel like his freedom is
lacking and makes a person feel like he has an unfortunate

Bioethical Boundaries
This quote by Galileo Galilei directly relates to the boundaries of bioethics and who should decide
them. While some people may assume that scientists might abuse and use the boundaries for their
own good, certified scientists should be able to decide boundaries for bioethics because they are
knowledgeable and are specialized in handling the bioethical boundaries. A few individuals believe
that if scientists are given the responsibility of making the boundaries for bioethics, then they will
abuse that power. Scientists might want to create new laws which could help themselves, but at the
same time that law could possibly harm the environment or even a human. However, if the
government allowed only certified scientists who were dedicated to

Examples Of Boundaries And Boundaries In The Shadow Lines
Borders and Boundaries in Amitav Ghosh's The Shadow Lines:
A Postcolonial Study
"The Shadow lines" is an award winning novel by Amitav Ghosh. The historical events like the
Swadeshi Movement, Second World War, partition of India and communal riots of 1963–64 which
took place in Calcutta and Dhaka are all mentioned. The concept of boundaries is an important one
for the postcolonial world writer's .This novel discusses these lines across cultures and boundaries
and tries to study them. These borders and boundaries not only divided the people but also relocated
them from their own country. The story is told in first person narrative and all the events are
described in a retrospective manner of about two decades .Because of the borders, borderlines,
nation and nationhood there is a certain degree of nuances which is created inside the human mind
which is also discussed in his novel. The plot of the novel centres ... Show more content on

problems discussed by Amitav Ghosh. The concept of borders and how the life of people changed

of views through his different characters. Through this work he questioned the concept of borders
and according to him they are just done for the political purposes and they are just arbitrary. These
borders further enhance the trouble by creating differences among people and that affects their
mutual relationship. Amitav Ghosh through his work tries to explain that these borders have the
same effect on people on both the sides of the borders. Both the sides suffer the same violence. He

The Effect Of Velocity On A Flat Plate Boundary Layer
Introduction: The purpose of this experiment was to measure the magnitude of velocity in a flat
plate boundary layer in which the pressure was constant. A pitot tube located at the top of the test
section that was used to determine the total pressure across the boundary layer. The Pitot tube
needed to be able to more along both horizontal and vertical directions for accurate measurements.
Five different tubes, aligned along the x–axis, were placed under the wind tunnel test section to
measure the static pressure. The result of both the static and total pressures is the dynamic pressure.
Theory:
The boundary layer is defined as a thin layer of any fluid adjacent to the solid surface it surrounds.
The characteristics of a boundary layer are basically what define the effects of viscosity. The
velocity of the boundary layer starts from a value of zero at the solid surface and increases until it
reaches a maximum which happens to be the free stream velocity. In other words, theoretically
speaking the boundary layer is infinite, but for measurement purposes the boundary layers ends
where the velocity gradient is 99% of the free stream velocity. The Reynolds number, a unit less
ratio of inertial forces to viscous forces, is used to identify the several inner layers of the boundary
layer. Furthermore, as previously mentioned when a body parallel to the flow, such as a flat plate, is
placed in the parallel direction of a free stream flow, a boundary layer is formed. At the

be driven by thinking of the possible results of crossing the friendship boundary: to gain, or to lose.
People always tend to choose the greater good. Yet, they have to compromise to achieve it. And that
is, they have also to consider what they will lose after the greater good is consumed. There are times
that from the level of being friends you will step up into the level of love, as what is illustrated in
"Crossing Boundaries". First, if the person is not accustomed with this new level, that person might
treat you differently. Like what it is said in "Dear Anonymous", an awkward feeling might be
produced between the two. And worse, they might not treat each other like what they are used to.

Before, it meant something that s unbearable. A lot of people are experiencing failures in hoping for
something that does not occur, thus people become hopeless of being noticed by the people they
secretly admire. As being hopeless becomes usual and widespread, the expression becomes merely
an expression. People become less wary of the usage of the terms. They are benumbed as they get
used to expect nothing from something. In the story of "The Beginnings are Cruel", "Invisible",
"Denouement", "Limamput Tatlong Minuto", the person expecting creates its own fall of hoping for
more than acquaintances. They admire people who seemed to have care of admiring them back.
Because of too much admiration, people interpret other people's every action in a way that they are
not supposed to be. For instance, if the girl asks you to meet in a certain place, it does not definitely
mean that she is asking you out. There are lot of possibilities why she wanted to meet you. It might
be because she treats you as a friend and she wants you to meet his other friends, including his
boyfriend. Another is when a guy smile at you, everyone smiles at anyone else they barely know.
However, the way a person interprets the smile depends on his affection to the person. If you treat
him as a friends, then you will interpret it as a friendly smile. But if you admire

Cellular Boundaries Are Permeable
In biology, I learned that cellular boundaries can be permeable. Initially, this concept was intriguing
in and of itself, that cells can release and absorb information to perform necessary functions. Three
years later, that particular biology class and the principle it revealed has held a place in my mind.
The phrase "boundaries are permeable" returns to my thoughts at odd times, not always bearing the
original scientific connotation. Most often, the phrase returns when there is an overlap in subject
matter, an opportunity to bridge ideas that were previously considered distinct to respective areas of
study. The three words have remained with me, serving to analogize the ability to effectively apply
information across disciplines, something I wish to accomplish on my career path. In my academic

Descriptive Essay About Boundary Waters
Crossing Boundaries in the Boundary Waters
I will never forget the first time I stepped foot into the Boundary Waters. It was February of 2016, a
brutally cold weekend but one I will hold with me forever. My family and I took a day trip away
from Camp Menogyn to go visit Rose Falls, one of the only waterfalls in Minnesota located in the
Boundary Waters. When my mom told me we would be within park limits, I was ecstatic. Growing
up, I heard stories from my parents and sister about the adventures they'd encountered in the
Boundary Waters Canoe Area. I felt so excited for my first experience.
When I crossed by the snow covered sign that read "Welcome to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area
Wilderness National Park" and looked at what surrounded me, I was beside myself. I didn't know
that trees could ever be so beautiful. The towering trees were the perfect shade of dark emerald
green, and the way the snow piled on them looked like painting. I thought I was living a fairytale. It
was the most beautiful sight I have ever laid eyes on.
We took a detour to a small, secluded lake that was completely surrounded by thick forests. The
snow that blanketed the lake was untouched and it glistened in the soft sunlight. We skied across to
the middle of the lake and took a few minutes of silence. In that moment, I felt my whole world flip
upside down. It was so quiet I almost felt uncomfortable as I'd never stood in complete and utter
silence, but my senses were focused elsewhere; I had so much to

Importance Of Land Surveying And How It Has Changed Over Time

Land Surveying
Introduction
This project discusses the importance of land surveying and how it has changed over time. It takes a
look at the Metes and Bounds system, the Congressional/Jeffersonian system, and offshore system.
Each of these systems has changed over time and is still important to the development of land
surveying. This project also discusses how data is used to create land–surveying maps and where to
find data. This project analyzes the data that is used with land surveying and has two maps to show
how the data can be used to create maps. Review of Topic Land surveying has been around a long
time and has had a lot of history over the years. The first system of land surveying to be used in the
United States was the Metes and Bounds system. This system was used in Europe, so when the
colonists traveled to the new land they used the Metes and Bounds system like they had in Europe
for land surveying in the thirteen colonies. Other states that use the Metes and Bounds system are
Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maine, Vermont, and West Virginia. The Metes and Bounds system is
relatively simple because it is composed of landmarks such as rivers, rocks, or trees that are used to
determine land plots or space. A landmark is used to represent the beginning of the land area and a
second landmark is used to determine where the plot of land ends. These landmarks can also create
angles for these border lines based on their

Summary: No Boundaries
No Boundaries Critique No Boundaries was a technical and creative dance performance filled with
diversity within its style. Each scene separately displayed its own theme, while conveying a unique
message in a way that was both entertaining and intriguing to the audience. In my opinion, the title
No Boundaries means being able to have the ability to express oneself in a way that is both
independent and emotionally self–gratifying. The title of the production was illustrated within the
choreography through each scene's individual abstract and technical concept, similar to each of the
dancers' interpretation of skill. Although, each scene had its own separate conviction, its ideology
didn't fail to coincide with the overall dynamics of the artistry.

clients was Ms. R, who was receiving services as a result of a recent divorce. Ms. C had also
experienced a divorce in her past and though she had effectively dealt with that experience, but
found herself identifying with many comments by Ms. R. Through their work together, the two
women realized they shared many common interests. They often found themselves talking about
these shared interests in their time together and eventually began meeting for coffee after their
sessions. Ms. R soon suggested they begin spending additional time together socially and Ms. C
agreed. Before long, they became fast friends, spending significant amount of social time together
on evenings and weekends, visiting clubs, going to movies or visiting local restaurants. After several
months, the two had a falling out about a gentleman both women favors. Ms. R filed a complaint
with the Regulatory agency in her state about the relationships. Throughout this paper this case will
be analyzed including the harmful effects of the relationship on all parties involved in the helping

Blurring The Boundary
Mutants
The world we live in is advancing more and more every day. We are beginning to exceed boundaries
and reach new limits. Science and Technology has come a long way since Copernicus said that the
sun was the center of the universe. Science fiction is slowly coming to life. We are building robots
that are extremely similar to humans, modifying genes, and creating clones. Authors wrote about
these abstract ideas not too long ago, but at the time they seemed far–fetched. Scientific and
technological advancement may be for good or for evil. The good side is the advancements in
medicine that could limit the risk of a particular disease or even cure one. The potentially bad side is
the steps we may take to get there without knowing the long–term effect. In Michael Bess's article

people who are genetically modified in the developmental stages of birth, so that they are born with

The focus of professional behavior is the therapeutic patient relationship and, requires protection of
the patient modesty, privacy and autonomy amongst other patient rights (NCSBN, 2013). When a

appeal to their emotion being positive. Additionally, patients and family members described
primarily receiving excellent nursing care when relationships were therapeutic (Jeffs et al., 2013).

Boundary violations are a further extent of boundary crossing with harm or risk of harm to the
patient becoming a factor. The difference between boundary crossing and violations are the risk of
harm and intent to participate in unsafe or dishonest behavior (Westrick, 2013). Nursing has
changed and legal and ethics now want the nurse to be close but not too close, close enough to
enhance the patient perceived conception of being care for (Catlin, 2013). For example, a nurse who
is caring for an abuse victim tells their patient, "I was abused too" is a boundary violation because
the nurse has now disclosed excessive personal information, and in doing so it may influence other
patient needs.
Recognizing the power of the nurse is important for clinicians and practitioners to understand.
Maintaining a profession image is paramount in not distorting the main focus, which is patient care.
Additionally, considering prior to acting, who's at risk, and whether or not the action will affect the
therapeutic needs of the patient is helpful in avoiding and preventing boundary violations (Catlin,
2013). When boundary crossing occur nurses should proceed with caution as these are perceptive
actions to violations, and it becomes difficult to remain objective after a crossing has

Boundaries In Relationships
The Importance of Setting Boundaries in Your Relationship
When we're feeling completely drained, tired, stressed, and exhausted all the time, many of us don't
realize that this is caused by not setting boundaries in our relationships and our lives. When we
leave ourselves too vulnerable to our partner, the result can be feeling unseen, under–appreciated,
and unsupported. There are several reasons why setting boundaries is vitally important for your
personal wellbeing, and even the well–being of your partner. We're going to discuss just a few of
these reasons here, while also providing tips for how you can begin to set boundaries today.
One of the primary reasons why you need to find your own personal borders is that it is necessary
for creating a sense of self. If you don't have boundaries there is a very good chance that you don't
have a solid sense of who you are as an individual. Perhaps you take on the thoughts of your partner,
you embody their feelings, ideas, values, and beliefs, as if they were your own. The term
'enmeshment' is used to describe this phenomenon, and when you've been in a relationship for quite
some time, you may not even know that it's happening. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

very common for women; closely aligning themselves with the beliefs and worldview of their
partner, and believing these to be their

Boundaries Vs Having Boundaries Essay
Having Boundaries vs. Having no boundaries Have You ever gotten sick of boundaries. If you have
then just think about it a littler harder because sometimes it's harder not having boundaries. Imagine
being able to do whatever you want it may seem awesome but it's really not. Having boundaries is
like having things you're told you can't do. Not having boundaries is like being able to do whatever
you want whenever you want. I read two books The Outsiders and One Flick Of A Finger. It's a lot
better to have boundaries than to not have them. First of all kids might do very dangerous things

Measurements in Boundary Layer Flows
Abstract: In this experiment, the velocity profile for a flat plate at zero pressure gradient of a
boundary layer at two different stream wise points were acquired. The investigation was also based
on and how changes in Reynolds number affect the velocity distribution within boundary layers.
Parameters such as the Momentum Thickness, Displacement Thickness, Shape Factor, shear stress
and coefficient of friction was also calculated to gain a better understand of boundary layers. The
experimental values calculated were compared to the theoretical Blasius for laminar flow and Power

[5] The boundary layer can also be measured by other factors. One factor is the Displacement
Thickness, δ*. It is defined as the distance by which the free streamlines are displaced in the y–
direction due to the formation of the boundary layer. The formation of the boundary layer reduces
the mass flow rate per unit area. This is because near the surface the molecules are travelling slower,
meaning less flow rate per unit area is going out compared to coming in. In order to compensate for
this loss in mass flow rate, the external streamlines (free streamlines) will be displaced. The distance
it displaced is the δ*. [5] When deriving this equation it is assumed the flow is incompressible and
steady. Another factor is the Momentum Thickness, ϴ. It is defined as the thickness of a layer of
freestream fluid carrying a momentum flow rate equal to the reduction in momentum flow rate
caused by the formation of the boundary layer. Closer to the surface of the object, the flow is slower.
This means that the momentum is also slower. ϴ is a measurement of the compensation that makes
us the momentum flow rate that was lost due to the formation of the boundary layer. The momentum
thickness is useful in determining the skin friction drag on a surface. [5] When deriving this
equation it is assumed the flow is incompressible and steady. Momentum Thickness is an indication
of Drag. Two parameters that

The Boundaries Of Culture
First of all, having different aspects on what direction to take is important and it needs to be the
same for everyone in a way where it becomes a culture. Most people take the direction based on
how culture places it and it just becomes part of life in a sense where one has to just go with it. If
culture places an image on society then one must follow it in order to be open and feel comfortable
in the position. Klein states, "If this picture seems extreme, it may only be because most of us in the
West rarely see the fences and the artillery" (198). The author is trying to say that the West have not
been able to see or have privilege towards the boundaries that society has placed. When Klein says,
"rarely see" that is because culture has not changed them while it is becoming a natural system for
others. If one were able to change and essentially "get with the program" then things would not be
so different in the West. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though this is not part taking in the culture, Smith's story shows a broader range of what it can
do for a bright direction in the future. Smith states, "I felt a sort of wonder at the flexibility of the

to grasp and continue with it can be impactful. She states, "being alive twice" and the words
represent how taking the correct decision and be very rewarding and how the system works at this
point in time. If culture was adored like this problems in the West for Klein would not exist and
everyone would be heading towards the correct direction. Therefore, culture and having a clear
direction can make it more "open" and function

The Boundaries Of Freedom
Freedom is the right to think, believe, speak, move about, generally act, and gather without being
punished or penalized. However, there are still boundaries that people should not obstruct. For
example, if it transgresses another person's freedom or rights then it is wrong and may cause
complications. Freedom is important because it allows people to express themselves freely, and be
original. One way that freedom allows people to express themselves freely is by writing the U.S.
Constitution. The U.S. Constitution, granted people the right to freedom of speech, religion, the
press, and petitioning the government. The U.S. Constitution made it possible for people in the

The Curie Point At Convergent Boundaries, Mountains,...

  • 1. The Curie Point At Convergent Boundaries, Mountains,... Thesis: At convergent boundaries, mountains, volcanoes, and other natural things can occur because when the plates collide, one plate is forced above the other and this happens because of the density and composition of the minerals and elements in the plates. Story: To start on our journey Jay and I started out towards magnetic north using our GPS (global positioning system) on a beautiful mountain in the great state of Hawaii. You don't realize how beautiful nature and the world is until you get out and experience it with your own eyes. To even think that magnetic reversals can happen at any given time and change the way we would be headed on the mountain is insane. The Curie point can show why the magnetic field changes. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jay and I look into the sky again but this time thinking about how far away we are from the Sun we are from here on Earth. The Titius–Bode relationship helps us learn how the spacing is possible in which it is all mathematical. Spacing–wise, if one were to stand on the sun and measure the distance to each planet in the Milky Way Galaxy, someone would find that each planet would be almost twice as far from the sun as the planet before. All of the planets orbiting the sun are rotating in a ecliptic which is a oval shaped invisible ring that each planet has and follows. When Earth was still forming, the iron catastrophe took place, making the material Earth would be made of turn into a spherical mass. Ultimately, the earth is made of a hot iron core and the outer "shell" of the Earth is called the lithosphere, also known as the crust or, that conveys many different things. As Jay and I walk slowly up the mountain, climbing the so called lithosphere, we think about why we have different types of hydrogen atoms. Some hydrogen atoms are safe like the hydrogen in water but others can be lethal like in hydrogen bomb. This thought can be backed up with the research that the same element can have a different number of neutrons in their nucleus and with those radioactive elements they are called unstable isotopes. The weight of one of these atoms is calculated by mols. To calculate mols, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Personal Boundaries Boundaries in a person's life are very crucial. Many people live their life day to day with no boundaries. Individuals might see others and think that nothing is wrong with that individual, but deep down inside, those people are beyond broken. This is a quote by Edgar Allan Poe, "The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?" This quote means that individuals can set boundaries all they want, but people are soon to forget about those boundaries that they set. People go back into their old habits of not having boundaries and do whatever they feel like. Individuals should start standing up for what they believe in, not care about the world, and the judgment that others will receive. Boundaries that I need to set in my life are anxiety problems, spiritual, and friendship boundaries. Anxiety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Individuals want to be able to do whatever they want, but God sees everything we do and individuals need to stand up and do what is right. In Matthew 5:28, it says "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." This verse is telling individuals that when a man looks at a woman in a sexual way that is not his wife, he has committed adultery. People need to set spiritual boundaries for themselves and follow the Lord's commandments. I need to make smart decisions and not follow worldly values. If I follow worldly values, then I would be a messed up person. In the book "Boundaries", it says "But if we do our work, and God does his, we will find strength in a real relationship with our Creator." This quote is saying that if we do our work here on earth and God does his in heaven, then we will have a more strong relationship. My life would be different if I stopped caring about everyone else around me and live for the Lord like He has called me ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Boundary Boundaries And Boundaries A boundary is defined as "the edge of appropriate, professional conduct" that differentiates between behaviour that is appropriate in a professional capacity, and behaviour that is not (Guthiel, 2005, p. 89; Allen, 2001). Boundary issues may arise around the professional external boundaries that are set including role issues, time, place, money, and physical and sexual contact, among other things (Guthiel, 2005). For most clients, a customary therapeutic relationship developed around these boundaries is all that is required; but others, mostly the more disturbed clients, require engagement that goes beyond the standard model (Waldinger, 1994). Boundaries then become difficult to define as it is not possible to codify all aspects of human interaction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Boundaries are fundamental in providing a safe foundation for the therapeutic alliance that is critical to, and the best predictor of, the successful outcome of therapy (Speight, 2011; Smith & Fitzpatrick, 1995; Bender, 2005). Boundary crossing evokes potential for misalliance when a therapist places the gratification of their personal needs above that of the client's and essentially sets the therapist against the client or creates an unhealthy dependency (Simon, 1992; Speight, 2011; Guthiel, 2005; Schoener, 1998). There is a one–way power dynamic that naturally develops as a result of how the relationship between therapist and client functions which creates serious consequences for the client should the therapist engage in negligent practice and harmful boundary crossing (Smith & Fitzpatrick, 1995; Simon, 1992). This includes anger, loss of self–esteem, depression, and other psychological distress experienced by the emotionally vulnerable client; and can also result in distrust of professionals when the integrity of a relationship is not preserved (Schoener, 1998; Aravind, Krishnaram & Thasneem, 2012). The result of a harmful boundary crossing could be a missed diagnosis, the use of an inappropriate technique, and the worsening of the original psychiatric condition; all of which could lead to premature termination which of course is far from beneficial for the client and undermines what good ... • 7. The Sorites Paradox And The Epistemic View solution to it. The Sorites Paradox begins with the problem that if one looks at a vague term such as a heap, at what point is it no longer a heap if you keep taking grains of sand out of it. The same can be said for cattle, if one keeps removing cattle from a herd when will it no longer be a herd. The Sorites Paradox is paradoxical because all the premises appear to be true as well as the argument being valid (the conclusion really follows from the premises); yet the conclusion appears to be false. In which case there must be a problem with one of the premises in order for the conclusion to be false, however it is very difficult to see which premise is false. One proposed solution to the problem is the Epistemic view. There are two versions of the argument the many–premise version and the two–premise version. The keys steps in the many–premise version of the Sorites Paradox are as follows: (MPS) (1) 1,000,000 grains of sand make a heap; (2) If 1,000,000 grains of sand make a heap, then 1,000,000 – 1 (= 999,999) grains of sand make a heap; So (3) 999,999 grains of sand make a heap. (Morris, 2016) The argument begins with 1,000,000 grains of sand which can obviously be seen as a heap. One grain of sand is subtracted each time e.g 1,000,000 – 1 = 999,999 grains of sand, with the conclusion following that 999,999 grains of sand make a heap. This seems a valid argument as the conclusion follows from the premises and it is clear that 999,999 grains of sand being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Boundaries Of Morality There are no definite boundaries, standards or definition to determine whether an action is considered moral. The same action under different circumstance or environment may result in different beliefs whether it's moral or immoral. Something that's moral doesn't necessarily means it's ethical either. What makes a moral action moral is that the person performing the action did it with good intention and foresees a positive outcome. Even though, the action may have been unethical or puts another person at risk. Referring to Julie's post about stealing medicine to save a life which could result in taking away someone else's life. In an ideal world, a life is a life, no one's life is more precious or valuable than someone else's life. But we are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If we look at the past, we have some historic immoral events like Slavery,Holocaust and Pearl Harbor. If we look at the present, we have recurring events like rape, murder and bully. I'm sure we can all agree that these events are immoral. With that in mind, I see two parties within all the events, the perpetrator and the victim. It's important to identify them because without one or the other, it would not be possible to discuss whether it is immoral or not. What constitutes as immoral is when the perpetrator takes away something of importance from the victim. Mostly, things that are intangible like their freedom, lives or a violation of their basic human rights. Another way to identify an immoral act is by questioning yourself, will a reasonable person perform the same action the perpetrator did. Who constitutes as a reasonable person? A reasonable person is a person who exercises average care, skill and judgement. If a reasonable person cannot perform the same action because it is against their beliefs or feels guilty for committing such action, then the action of the perpetrator is immoral. But when are immoral actions ethical? Wars, it doesn't matter what excuse a person may have, they cannot justify killing another human being. Although, it's immoral but it is also ethical for the soldiers to fight and kill to protect their country and their family. Or do you think it's wrong for soldiers kill to protect what they value the most? I believe it is the right thing for soldiers to do whatever they can to ensure their family have a safe place to ... • 11. Boundaries In Beowulf Humans Create Their Place in the World Through analyzing Beowulf, there is a common theme throughout the book of proximity and transgression of boundaries. The author creates the proximity of boundaries by having the Hall, (good), within walking distance of the forest, (bad), and the transgression of boundaries by having Beowulf enter the mere. These examples within the text correlate to boundaries that are seen within our modern world. Proximity of boundaries can be viewed by the closeness of industry and community, and the transgressions can be seen with foreign interference. These transgressions and proximities of boundaries illustrate how humans create and protect their own place in the world by controlling proximity and transgressing boundaries when necessary. In Beowulf, there are several boundaries that have an extremely near proximity to one another. The most evident example of the proximity of boundaries is the forest and Hrothgar's Hall. The forest was seen as a, "dark," and mysterious place that was associated with the evil creatures in the book, whereas the Hall was associated with celebration and a sense of safety for the people. The Danes built Hrothgar's hall with the realization that the forest was in close proximity to their place of safety. This example illustrates that the Danes created their place within their environment. Although there are some set boundaries that humans have no control over, such as night and day, there is a large impact on how humanity creates boundaries and their place in the world. In our modern–day world, there are numerous examples of how humans have pushed the limits of creating boundaries within close proximity of one another. In Andrew Blackwell's novel, Visit Sunny Chernobyl, he explores a refinery town within Texas called Port Arthur. Blackwell explains the overwhelming proximity of the refineries to the city of Port Arthur, and even gives an example of a child's playground and the immediacy of the refineries. He states, "Several hundred yards beyond the playground were the storage tanks of the Motiva refinery, and beyond them the refinery itself," illustrating that humans created a refinery, associated with pollutants and darkness in our society, within ... • 13. The Use of Images in William Carlos Williams', The Young... The Use of Images in William Carlos Williams', The Young Housewife As is typical of most Modernist poetry, William Carlos Williams uses very specific images in "The Young Housewife" to reveal not merely a particular circumstance or event, but to also suggest underlying themes and ideas of his subject matter. For example, he gives to the reader various real and imagined images, such her moving about in negligee behind closed doors, or her going about her daily affairs, that are at once very seductive and suggestive of ideas that supercede their appearances. These images especially accentuate the young housewife's naturalness and beauty. However, they are quickly contrasted by a comparison drawn by Williams of the young lady to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the leaves are separated from the tree, they quickly lose their color and texture, drying up until they are brown and brittle, and die. Taking this into consideration, we can now move on to what we know about Williams' young housewife. Truthfully, very little is mentioned about her except, of course, her relative age and her marital status (for some reason these two things just seem to jump out of the text). It is very clear, however, that Williams does not limit the young housewife to these two aspects of her life, but also emphasizes other aspects–in particular her natural beauty and sexuality, and her separation and isolation from the outside world. It is evident that "The Young Housewife" is a very sexually charged poem. Through its subject matter, its language, its imagery, and even its use of phrasing, Williams accentuates the young housewife's seductive and almost unrestrained nature. For instance, He describes her moving about behind closed doors, dressed in negligee, or going to the curb un–corseted to call ice–man, or allowing her hair to hang freely, only periodically tucking it in. All of these images suggest strongly that the young housewife is a natural and unrestrained character. She is free any imposed social constraints that has the power to squelch her pristine and almost wild nature. This sense of unrestraint of the young housewife, however, is purely essential, and not actual or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Species Boundaries Within the study of evolution, the concept of a species and the mechanisms that create and maintain species boundaries are very important. In order to understand the fossil record and how a species can split into two or more separate species, researches must first define what they consider a species to be. There are two main competing theories about species, the biological species concept (BSC) and the ecological species concept (ESC). The biological species concept states that gene flow is the key to keeping groups cohesive and isolated. A species is considered to be a group of interbreeding organisms that are reproductively isolated from other groups of organisms. Therefore, members of each distinct group cannot mate successfully with other groups. Gene flow is what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, some species remain the same with out gene flow between groups (Boyd and Silk 2000:97– 99, Ridley 1993:393). Natural selection acts as reinforcement to prevent dissimilar groups from producing hybrid species. Since hybrids are less fit, selection favors behavioral and morphological adaptations that prevent mating between groups. Reinforcement acts to reduce gene flow between groups in order to reduce the number of unfit offspring which reproductively isolates species to the point where they cannot interbreed at all. In the case of mules, who are hybrids of horses and donkeys, they are not less capable of competition with other animals, but they are less fit because they are unable to reproduce and get their genes into the next generation (Boyd and Silk 2000:103, Ridley 1993:394). In actuality, these two species concepts are not very distinct and neither is more valid or useful. Both theories can explain the mechanisms that cause different species to arise and remain distinct. If populations are not being selected upon, then gene flow is the mechanism keeping them separate. If selection is very strong, then it is probably the factor that is isolating ... How would you feel if you constantly had earthquakes and volcanic activity on your face? How do you think the Jalisco block feels? There are two types of plate boundaries that causes volcanic and earthquake activity and as a scientist I was determined to find out. The boundary could be either divergent or convergent. Divergent is when the boundary is moving the plates apart and soft, solid rock will fill the gap forming a mid–ocean ridge. A convergent boundary is when a plate boundary brings plates closer to each other and create a trench. I think the cause of all this activity is caused by a divergent boundary and I can prove it. In extreme cases, different boundaries are merged together, thus replacing independent, already existing ones. During their advancement processes, a number of controversies confront the social boundaries. For instance, they can be obstructed such that their existence and progress becomes endangered. This usually happens when interaction fails to take place in a given group. Tilly claimed this to be a major problem, since it becomes almost impossible and complicated to know when the barriers become open, and allow free interactions to take place (Tilly 2005: 7, 32). Secondly, he warned that sometimes it becomes unclear to detect when the boundaries lose their importance and values. This uncertainty state about the tight closeness between confinements and the society members can be confusing, since one can never know how deep the bound is and a slight mistake can be the origin of complex difficulties in the society. It stimulates individuals to test themselves to the fullest, seeing what they could achieve and how they could do it. To be able to reach one's full potential means to leave their comfort zones and leave behind a life that was known. By doing so it alters one's viewpoint of how they perceive the world into something completely different. The texts that present these factors include "Mao's Last Dancer" by Li Cunxin and "Then and Now" by Oodgeroo Noonuccal, where both share similar properties that relate to crossing boundaries and the challenges and risks that come with it which would eventually lead them to reach their full potential. • 33. The Boundary Between The Pacific Plate And Australian... Sarit Laschinsky ESS 211 AC Pacific and Australian Plate Boundary The boundary between the Pacific Plate and Australian Plate is marked by volcanism, earthquakes, and different and unique topography. The border of these two plates is composed of a mix of transform and convergent boundaries along the Eastern edge of the Australian plate, with both divergent and convergent boundaries along the Northern edge. The Australian Plate is moving in a North to Northeastern direction at a speed of approximately 7 cm /year (although the continent of Australia only shifts by approximately 5.6 cm/year) [1][7]. Meanwhile, the Pacific Plate moves towards the Northwest at a speed of also approximately 7 cm/year (at least the speed of the movement of Hawaii). [7] Each plate subducts beneath the other at some points along the boundary, which contributes to some of the different volcanism and topographical features along the plate boundary. One of the major features of the Western edge of the Australian/Pacific plate boundary is the Alpine Fault. This is a transform or strike slip fault, running approximately 600 miles up the South Island of New Zealand. The Alpine Fault is considered to be a visible, "on–land" boundary of the two constituent plates, and also marks the transition from a transform to convergent boundary. The Alpine Fault also ruptures, which leads to seismic activity as well as considerable horizontal movement, up to 30 m every 1000 years. This horizontal movement causes ... Professional Boundaries And Legal Boundaries Awatar Parajuli Nov 24, 14 PHIL 4401 Instructor: Dr. Chris Nagel Thesis Statement Professionals have to maintain a professional boundary while serving their clients, yet violations continue to occur; but to maintain professional boundaries, it is the responsibility of both parties to understand the boundary limitations. Introduction: There are responsibilities and expectations regarding trust and ethical behavior in professional client relationships. Professionals and client develop a relationship base on trust, compassion, and mutual respect. Boundaries means effective and appropriate interaction between professionals and clients they serve. Boundaries exist to protect both the professional and the client. The ability to create, and maintain boundaries are often critical, but professionals make the judgment in their own freedom; however, both professionals and client should understand and respect the limit of the relationships. A professional should be competent to set appropriate boundaries without harming professional–client relationship, and they should be able to recognize boundary issues in the early stage. There is always a fine line that determines the limitation of professional and client relationship, which could be applied in other similar relationships such as professors–student relationship. Dan Morgan illustrated with some of the examples of ethical issues raised by the student's personal writing. Though, there is a set guidelines about what to write and ... Boundaries preserve the therapeutic relationship by ensuring that a helper understands the need to and can keep separate his personal and professional life. Counsellors, or helpers who are able to maintain healthy boundaries do not carry the problems of their clients around with them during leisure hours. They know how to say no, which allows them to keep a balance in their lives. A helper that takes care of himself and knows where to draw the line is in a position to provide a higher standard of service to his helpees, than a helper who blurs the boundaries between personal and professional relationships and feels overwhelmed as a result. An oceanic–oceanic convergent boundary creates volcanic island chain, by the subduction and melting of one plate then magma rises through the crust to form islands and volcanoes. A continental–continental convergent boundary is where two continental plates collide and neither of them are dense enough to subdue so the wrinkle up to form mountains. One example of this is the Himalayan mountains which are formed from the Indian continental plate pushing into the Eurasian plate causing the to ruffle up into mountains. One great example of this the Galapagos Islands which is a chain of volcanic islands located off the coast of Ecuador. Theses islands are formed from two oceanic plates pushing against one another. This individual feels like he is imprisoned by someone else's boundaries and he is unable to do anything about it. "So he opens his throat to sing." This line shows how the bird persevered to get out of his current condition, but no matter how much he tried no one was able to help him. Due to the fact that he sings he fearful trill. The Effect Of Velocity On A Flat Plate Boundary Layer Introduction: The purpose of this experiment was to measure the magnitude of velocity in a flat plate boundary layer in which the pressure was constant. A pitot tube located at the top of the test section that was used to determine the total pressure across the boundary layer. The Pitot tube needed to be able to more along both horizontal and vertical directions for accurate measurements. Five different tubes, aligned along the x–axis, were placed under the wind tunnel test section to measure the static pressure. The result of both the static and total pressures is the dynamic pressure. Theory: The boundary layer is defined as a thin layer of any fluid adjacent to the solid surface it surrounds. The characteristics of a boundary layer are basically what define the effects of viscosity. The velocity of the boundary layer starts from a value of zero at the solid surface and increases until it reaches a maximum which happens to be the free stream velocity. In other words, theoretically speaking the boundary layer is infinite, but for measurement purposes the boundary layers ends where the velocity gradient is 99% of the free stream velocity. The Reynolds number, a unit less ratio of inertial forces to viscous forces, is used to identify the several inner layers of the boundary layer. Furthermore, as previously mentioned when a body parallel to the flow, such as a flat plate, is placed in the parallel direction of a free stream flow, a boundary layer is formed. At the ... There are times that from the level of being friends you will step up into the level of love, as what is illustrated in "Crossing Boundaries". First, if the person is not accustomed with this new level, that person might treat you differently. Like what it is said in "Dear Anonymous", an awkward feeling might be produced between the two. It was February of 2016, a brutally cold weekend but one I will hold with me forever. My family and I took a day trip away from Camp Menogyn to go visit Rose Falls, one of the only waterfalls in Minnesota located in the Boundary Waters. When my mom told me we would be within park limits, I was ecstatic. Growing up, I heard stories from my parents and sister about the adventures they'd encountered in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. I felt so excited for my first experience. When I crossed by the snow covered sign that read "Welcome to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness National Park" and looked at what surrounded me, I was beside myself. I didn't know that trees could ever be so beautiful. The towering trees were the perfect shade of dark emerald green, and the way the snow piled on them looked like painting. I thought I was living a fairytale. It was the most beautiful sight I have ever laid eyes on. We took a detour to a small, secluded lake that was completely surrounded by thick forests. The snow that blanketed the lake was untouched and it glistened in the soft sunlight. We skied across to the middle of the lake and took a few minutes of silence. In that moment, I felt my whole world flip upside down. Importance Of Land Surveying And How It Has Changed Over Time GIS 314 Final Project Nick Winecoff Land Surveying Introduction This project discusses the importance of land surveying and how it has changed over time. It takes a look at the Metes and Bounds system, the Congressional/Jeffersonian system, and offshore system. Each of these systems has changed over time and is still important to the development of land surveying. This project also discusses how data is used to create land–surveying maps and where to find data. This project analyzes the data that is used with land surveying and has two maps to show how the data can be used to create maps. Review of Topic Land surveying has been around a long time and has had a lot of history over the years. The first system of land surveying to be used in the United States was the Metes and Bounds system. This system was used in Europe, so when the colonists traveled to the new land they used the Metes and Bounds system like they had in Europe for land surveying in the thirteen colonies. Other states that use the Metes and Bounds system are Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maine, Vermont, and West Virginia. The Metes and Bounds system is relatively simple because it is composed of landmarks such as rivers, rocks, or trees that are used to determine land plots or space. A landmark is used to represent the beginning of the land area and a second landmark is used to determine where the plot of land ends. We are building robots that are extremely similar to humans, modifying genes, and creating clones. Authors wrote about these abstract ideas not too long ago, but at the time they seemed far–fetched. Scientific and technological advancement may be for good or for evil. The good side is the advancements in medicine that could limit the risk of a particular disease or even cure one. The potentially bad side is the steps we may take to get there without knowing the long–term effect. In Michael Bess's article "Blurring the Boundary Between Person and Product," he discusses the advancement of genetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He looks at the ins and outs of modifying a person's genes and what the selection process will be like for parents. Moral, ethical, and economic boundaries of genetic modification are discussed as well. In Tenzin Gyatso's article "ethics and the New Genetics," he describes how scientists are beginning to perform unimaginable tasks. Such as, cloning and genetic modification to build a baby. This building of babies may lead to the development of a "super race." A "super race," consists of people who are genetically modified in the developmental stages of birth, so that they are born with characteristics and advantages chosen by the parents. For example, parents will choose eye color, hair color, height, weight, intelligence level, athletic ability, and anything else they want for their child. A "super race," will have everything thing that we wish we had. Although the idea of a "super race," sounds splendid, it is not all sunshine and rainbows. Boundary Violations The focus of professional behavior is the therapeutic patient relationship and, requires protection of the patient modesty, privacy and autonomy amongst other patient rights (NCSBN, 2013). When a therapeutic relationship is achieved patient and family members perceive care to be better due to the appeal to their emotion being positive. Additionally, patients and family members described primarily receiving excellent nursing care when relationships were therapeutic (Jeffs et al., 2013). Maintaining a therapeutic relationship between a patient and nurse requires being cognizant of the role of the nurse and being involved appropriately to meet optimal health goals without crossing boundaries, while maintaining a professional image. Nurse's involvement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Boundary violations are a further extent of boundary crossing with harm or risk of harm to the patient becoming a factor. The difference between boundary crossing and violations are the risk of harm and intent to participate in unsafe or dishonest behavior (Westrick, 2013). Nursing has changed and legal and ethics now want the nurse to be close but not too close, close enough to enhance the patient perceived conception of being care for (Catlin, 2013). For example, a nurse who is caring for an abuse victim tells their patient, "I was abused too" is a boundary violation because the nurse has now disclosed excessive personal information, and in doing so it may influence other patient needs. Recognizing the power of the nurse is important for clinicians and practitioners to understand. Maintaining a profession image is paramount in not distorting the main focus, which is patient care. Additionally, considering prior to acting, who's at risk, and whether or not the action will affect the therapeutic needs of the patient is helpful in avoiding and preventing boundary violations (Catlin, 2013). When boundary crossing occur nurses should proceed with caution as these are perceptive actions to violations, and it becomes difficult to remain objective after a crossing has ... Introduction The purpose of this report is interpretation and analysis of the R–Code 2015 and application relating to surveyors when considering subdivision design. The report has divided into two parts. In the first part of report shown importance of R–code in the design of subdivision and second part shown used the part 5 'deemed–to–comply' of R–codes refer to the design elements for all single house(s) and grouped dwellings; and multiple dwellings in area codes less than R40. To ensure certainty in timely assessment and determination of proposals applied consistently across State and local government. The WAPC has prepared the explanatory guidelines on the matters addressed in the R–Codes, in consultation with decision–makers and relevant stakeholders, to provide guidance and assist interpretation and assessment of proposals against the design principles and/or deemed–to–comply provisions of the R–Codes. In addition to meeting lot size requirements, the Residential Design Codes specify other requirements relating to lot design, setbacks, driveways, open space, plot ratio, parking areas etc. The all land owners to become familiar with the Residential Design Codes, or seek professional advice prior to making a formal subdivision application. The relationship between the boundaries for example in a convergent plate boundary there exists a trench between the two plates sliding against each other. Hotspot, a zone in the asthenosphere is where the magma comes from during volcanic eruptions and part of the moving plates. 2. Describe the relationship, if any, of the boundaries in #1 to the islands that you labeled in #3 Most divergent boundaries are under water. Normally forming submarine called oceanic spreading ridges. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What do you think controls the appearance and form of the continental margin? Plate movements and the basic difference in the density of oceanic and continental crustal units initiate the structural pattern of continental margins and result in a tectonic classification of coastlines as active (Pacific, leading edge) or passive (Atlantic, trailing edge) margins, each of which have certain fundamental characteristics which define the appearance. 7. How do you think that the mountain chains in #5 formed?the mountains have been formed as a result of convergence of plates e.g. like the nazca plate and the south American plate . the heavier oceanic crust of the nazca plate is pushed towards the south American plate and because it denser is sub ducted underneath 8. • 69. Boundaries In Relationships The Importance of Setting Boundaries in Your Relationship When we're feeling completely drained, tired, stressed, and exhausted all the time, many of us don't realize that this is caused by not setting boundaries in our relationships and our lives. When we leave ourselves too vulnerable to our partner, the result can be feeling unseen, under–appreciated, and unsupported. There are several reasons why setting boundaries is vitally important for your personal wellbeing, and even the well–being of your partner. We're going to discuss just a few of these reasons here, while also providing tips for how you can begin to set boundaries today. One of the primary reasons why you need to find your own personal borders is that it is necessary for creating a sense of self. If you don't have boundaries there is a very good chance that you don't have a solid sense of who you are as an individual. Perhaps you take on the thoughts of your partner, you embody their feelings, ideas, values, and beliefs, as if they were your own. The term 'enmeshment' is used to describe this phenomenon, and when you've been in a relationship for quite some time, you may not even know that it's happening. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some will want you to believe that this is the very nature of love, but that couldn't be further from the truth. When enmeshment occurs, one or both people in the relationship will have a hard time identifying their own unique experience of life, and how that is different from their partner. This is very common for women; closely aligning themselves with the beliefs and worldview of their partner, and believing these to be their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Boundaries Vs Having Boundaries Essay Having Boundaries vs. Having no boundaries Have You ever gotten sick of boundaries. If you have then just think about it a littler harder because sometimes it's harder not having boundaries. Imagine being able to do whatever you want it may seem awesome but it's really not. Having boundaries is like having things you're told you can't do. Not having boundaries is like being able to do whatever you want whenever you want. I read two books The Outsiders and One Flick Of A Finger. It's a lot better to have boundaries than to not have them. First of all kids might do very dangerous things without boundaries, Kids also feel that their parents don't care, and Some people say that it's a lot easier to have no boundaries but that's not true. To start off, Kids may do dangerous things without boundaries. If they feel they can do whatever they want then they won't care what they do. In the book One Flick Of A Finger the kids had no boundaries so a lot of them did bad things. Kids were considered not "Cool" if they didn't have a gun. A boy later shot his brother because he ... In the book the Outsiders the kids feel the same way. the text said "They spoiled him". "That was what he wanted". " For somebody to tell them no". This shows that Bob just really wanted his parents to actually care what they did. Johnny From the Outsiders also said "I don't want to see her". Measurements in Boundary Layer Flows Abstract: In this experiment, the velocity profile for a flat plate at zero pressure gradient of a boundary layer at two different stream wise points were acquired. The investigation was also based on and how changes in Reynolds number affect the velocity distribution within boundary layers. Parameters such as the Momentum Thickness, Displacement Thickness, Shape Factor, shear stress and coefficient of friction was also calculated to gain a better understand of boundary layers. The experimental values calculated were compared to the theoretical Blasius for laminar flow and Power Law Solutions for turbulent flow to see how they varied. It was found out the higher the Reynolds number the greater the boundary layer thickness. As the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [5] The boundary layer can also be measured by other factors. One factor is the Displacement Thickness, δ*. It is defined as the distance by which the free streamlines are displaced in the y– direction due to the formation of the boundary layer. The formation of the boundary layer reduces the mass flow rate per unit area. This is because near the surface the molecules are travelling slower, meaning less flow rate per unit area is going out compared to coming in. In order to compensate for this loss in mass flow rate, the external streamlines (free streamlines) will be displaced. The distance it displaced is the δ*. [5] When deriving this equation it is assumed the flow is incompressible and steady. Another factor is the Momentum Thickness, ϴ. It is defined as the thickness of a layer of freestream fluid carrying a momentum flow rate equal to the reduction in momentum flow rate caused by the formation of the boundary layer. Closer to the surface of the object, the flow is slower. This means that the momentum is also slower. ϴ is a measurement of the compensation that makes us the momentum flow rate that was lost due to the formation of the boundary layer. The momentum thickness is useful in determining the skin friction drag on a surface. [5] When deriving this equation it is assumed the flow is incompressible and steady. Momentum Thickness is an indication of Drag. Two parameters that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. The Boundaries Of Culture First of all, having different aspects on what direction to take is important and it needs to be the same for everyone in a way where it becomes a culture. Most people take the direction based on how culture places it and it just becomes part of life in a sense where one has to just go with it. If culture places an image on society then one must follow it in order to be open and feel comfortable in the position. Klein states, "If this picture seems extreme, it may only be because most of us in the West rarely see the fences and the artillery" (198). The author is trying to say that the West have not been able to see or have privilege towards the boundaries that society has placed. When Klein says, "rarely see" that is because culture has not changed them while it is becoming a natural system for others. If one were able to change and essentially "get with the program" then things would not be so different in the West. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though this is not part taking in the culture, Smith's story shows a broader range of what it can do for a bright direction in the future. Smith states, "I felt a sort of wonder at the flexibility of the thing. Like being alive twice" (248). This means that adapting to a certain culture and enabling one to grasp and continue with it can be impactful. She states, "being alive twice" and the words represent how taking the correct decision and be very rewarding and how the system works at this point in time. If culture was adored like this problems in the West for Klein would not exist and everyone would be heading towards the correct direction. However, there are still boundaries that people should not obstruct. For example, if it transgresses another person's freedom or rights then it is wrong and may cause complications. Freedom is important because it allows people to express themselves freely, and be original. One way that freedom allows people to express themselves freely is by writing the U.S. Constitution.
