2. FIRST HARD TACK
• HARD TACK IS A HARD CANDY THAT IS MADE OF:1 CUP SUGAR, ½ A CUP OF KARO CORN
SYRUP, ½ A GRAM OF FLAVORING (COLOR AS NEEDED). YOU WILL NEED THAT STUFF AND
A GLASS MEASURING CUP, SARAN WRAP, A SPATULA, A COOKIE SHEET, AND POWDER
SUGAR. FIRST YOU PUT THE SUGAR AND THE KARO IN A LARGE GLASS CUP AND MIX
WELL, THEN COVER IT IN SARAN WRAP, AND MICROWAVE IT FOR 3:15, REMOVE THE
WRAP AFTER THAT AND STIR AGAIN, PUT NEW WRAP ON AND MICROWAVE IT AGAIN FOR
3:15, REMOVE WRAP, MIX WELL AND ADD IN THE FLAVORING, POUR IT ON TO THE
COOKIE SHEET WITH THE POWDER SUGAR ON IT, LET IT SET FOR ABOUT 5-10 MIN, AFTER
IT HAS SET BREAK IT INTO BITE SIZED PIECES. THEN YOU HAVE YOUR SELF SOME HARD
TACK.
4. SECOND, NO BAKES
• NO BAKES ARE SOFT COOKIES THAT YOU DON’T HAVE TO BAKE. THESE COOKIES
ARE MADE OUT OF ¼ CUP OF BUTTER OR OLEO, 2 CUPS OF SUGAR, 4TBSP OF
COCOA, ½ A CUP OF MILK, ½ CUP OF PEANUT BUTTER, 2 CUPS OF QUICK
ROLLED OATS, 1 TSP. OF VANILLA, AND A PINCH OF SALT. THE FIRST THING
YOU DO IS PUT 1ST 4 INGREDIENTS IN THREE QUART SAUCE PAN. MIX AND BRING
TO A BOIL FOR JUST 1 MIN. REMOVE FROM HEAT AND ADD ½ CUP OF PEANUT
BUTTER, 2 CUPS OF OATS, THEN PUT IN THE VANILLA AND THE SALT, THEN MIX,
LAST DROP THE STUFF BY TBSP ON WAX PAPER. THEN YOU HAVE NO BAKES.
