Al Capone and three other prisoners, Frank Morris, John Angling and Clarence Angling, were incarcerated at Alcatraz prison. They planned an elaborate escape by digging through the walls with spoons and constructing rafts and life vests out of raincoats. On June 11, 1962, the four men disappeared from their cells and have never been seen again, though some reports placed them reaching Angel Island or potentially surviving but in hiding, making their escape from Alcatraz one of the most famous prison breaks in history.
