9. Brief History of Region 10 (1/3)
• 1967: Region 10, covering an area
previously refereed to as “The Rest of
the World”, was created.
• 2,507 members
• 2 Sections: Tokyo Section and India Section
• 1971: First R10 Committee Meeting
• 4 Sections (India, New Zealand, Pakistan,
Tokyo)

• By 1976: Section formation in the
countries of R10 was virtually complete.
– 11 Sections
– 1 Council (India)
• 1979: R10 became Asia-Pacific Region,
excluded Africa, which was added to R8
territory
• 1980: First TENCON in Hong Kong

• 1980: higher grade members 7,000,
smaller than R7 and R8
• 1982: R10 membership passed 10,000
mark , a growth rate of better than 10%
having been sustained for many years,
and overtook R8
• 1984: surpassed R7, becoming the
largest transnational region.
