Ladybirds are a type of beetle that comes in around 5000 species worldwide. They have distinct anatomical features and live in various habitats across continents and regions, preying mostly on aphids. Ladybirds go through a life cycle of egg, larva, pupa and adult stages. They congregate but do not live in family groups, seeking each other for mating and shelter.

Some ladybirds hibernate during winter, which means
they sleep for a long time. Some hibernate in large
groups and some in small groups. They eat a lot of food
during Summer so they could stay alive in Winter.

Ladybirds also have dangerous predators. Spiders, birds ,
even other insects are predators if food runs out.
18. Protect
They protect themselves by pretending to be dead or
using their bright colors to warn the predators that it
has a bad taste or squirt out bad-tasting liquid.

Some species of ladybirds are pest ladybirds, means they
make problems for humans by coming into their houses.
