• Oracle Hyperion Workforce Planning - this module lets you easily &
efficiently plan for head count, salary, and compensation across the
enterprise. By automatically connecting with your workforce data, it helps
you assess the business impact of your workforce decisions in real time.
• Oracle Hyperion Capital Asset Planning - this module provides you
the ability to plan for existing and new capital additions, deletions,
transfer along with maintenance and depreciation while analyzing their
impact on income, balance sheet, and cash flow.
To enable quick implementations, Hyperion Planning offers two
modules that provide predefined solutions for the following
pieces of an organization’s planning needs

Microsoft Office Integration
Additionally, you can directly integrate data from the
Planning database into PowerPoint and Word. Highly
customized reports can be created with accurate
information and automatically refreshed when the
underlying data changes. The end result: reduced
manual intervention, improved data integrity, and
increased reporting accuracy.
Oracle Hyperion Planning allows you to leverage existing
user competencies and interact with plans using familiar
Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Planning lets you take your plans offline, and at your own
convenience, change assumptions, perform calculations, analyze
results, and connect back to the central database to synchronize
your updates.

Entering data in planning forms
• Hyperion Planning data may be entered into base periods or summary periods.
• If data is entered in base periods, Planning will accumulate the data to the
summary periods; if entered into summary periods, Planning will distribute
(spread) the data to the summary periods.
• Planning can be set to spread the summary data evenly to the base periods, or
spread the summary values based on a calendar’s weekly distribution in a
quarter, such as 4‐4‐5, 5‐4‐4, or 4‐5‐4.
• This spreading functionality is available whether the form is access through the
web interface or through SmartView.

• Hyperion Planning uses Drivers to systematically calculate certain
items in it’s database. These calculations can be set up to match
the need of the organization.
• Can be configured to be centrally maintained by corporate or be
set up as input items populated by operational personnel.
• Can dramatically reduce data input requirements by operational
personnel, while assuring consistency data relationships.
• Examples of line items that might employ drivers:

• Manages & guides users through the planning process;
navigated by a step by step wizard; allowing you to reduce
cycle times while ensuring that your plans are complete and
reliable.
• The tasks within a task list consist of data input, reports for
viewing data, and workflow procedures for managing
progress of the budget cycle.
• Can support many different task lists for various
users & groups; instructions can be built into the
task list or onto individual tasks to provide
additional guidance

functionality ‐ including email notifications & alerts ‐ that
allows users and administrators to track and communicate
the progress of plans and budgets.
