2. The OP Design Challenges provide opportunity for OP Members to put their Octalysis skills into practice.
Watching the videos and interacting with other members and the OP Team on Slack is a good start, but
applying your knowledge is what truly takes you to the next level.
This challenge will be all about Guilds and how we can use them to improve the experience on Octalysis
Prime for users through the Four Phases, while also focussing on attracting new Premium Primers.
WHY WE OFFER CHALLENGES IN OCTALYSIS PRIME
Guilds [Deadline June 14]
3. To enrich the experience on Octalysis Prime, we want to implement and use Guilds.
This challenge will be all about Guilds and how we can use them to improve the experience on Octalysis
Prime for users through the Four Phases, while also focussing on attracting new Premium Primers.
Endgame Primers can help Onboarding and Scaffolding Primers. We can compete with some Guilds, ally
with others, and mostly connect and collaborate within our own Guild.
Envision an Island with Guilds… What would be these guilds do? How and why would you join one?
Why would you stay (in that one)? What benefits would it give you? What could you give your Guild?
INTRODUCTION
Guilds [Deadline June 14]
4. To keep the guild experience synchronous with the overall Octalysis Prime experience, we have set up
some guidelines within which we will work:
The Guild System covers als many areas of the Island as possible (e.g. it should not be a Hydra-only
experience).
The Guild System is there for all Primers (not only Endgame).
The Guild System brings a new dimension to our community.
The Guild System is focussed mainly on collaboration and connection.
GUILD GUIDELINES
Guilds [Deadline June 14]
5. Brainstorm for a guild system that fits within the Guild Guidelines and benefits the overall
experience here on Octalysis Prime. Use your Empathy Engine and get loose.
The two things we aim to achieve most with Guilds are:
1. Bring a new dimension to our community
2. Attract new Premium Primers
Things to pay attention to:
• Chou Coins are abundant for most Primers and we are looking for Sinks, rather than Sources.
• Read the Guild Guidelines before you start brainstorming.
• One limitation we have to work with is how much time our developers have to spend on developing the
guilds instead of keeping everything running smoothly. To the best of your ability try to keep the Ease
Score low.
