5. What is an Essential Oil?
Each oil has a complex chemical make up of hundreds of unique
chemical constituents giving them their remarkable benefits.
Essential oils are the closest thing in chemical makeup to human blood
known to man. They become transport mechanisms for the
constituents they carry.
Can affect every cell of the body within 20 minutes, have a half life of
10 minutes and within 2 hours have been completely absorbed and
utilized. Very synergistic with our body!

concentrated. One drop contains approximately 40-million-trillion molecules. Numerically that
is a 4 with 19 zeros after it. (40,000,000,000,000,000,000)
We have one hundred trillion cells in our bodies, that's a lot. But one drop of essential oil
contains enough molecules to cover every cell in our body with 40,000 molecules.
Considering that it only takes one molecule of the right kind to open the receptor site and
communicate with the DNA to alter cellular function, you can see why even one drop or
inhaling a small amount of oil vapor can have profound effects on the body, brain and

7. Grades of Essential Oils
Essential oils are regulated by the perfume industry.
Labels can be deceptive and misleading:
• To have “100% pure” on label - only needs to have 5% pure oil.
Synthetic: lab made, may be harmful, no therapeutic value
Extended or altered oils: fragrance grade, may contain solvents, chemical
extenders, no therapeutic value
Natural oils (organic) and certified oils: focus growing on natural nad
chemical free environment, no focus on harvest and distillation. Pass
oil-standard test but may not contain any or just a few therapeutic
compounds
Therapeutic grade: pure, medicinal steam distilled essential oils
containing all desired therapeutic compounds
