1. Call for Participation
in International Theatre Residency within the project
WALLS_SEPARATE WORLDS
with the support of the “Culture Programme 2007-2013” of the European Union
The project WALLS-Separate worlds, promoted by Astràgali Teatro (Italy), with the support of
the European Union “Culture Programme 2007-2013”, launches a Call for Participation in an
international theatre residency that will be held in Șirince (Turkey) at the beautiful venue of
Theatre Madrasa from 23rd
to 30th
September 2013.
The International Theatre Residency includes an intensive theatre workshop, held by Astràgali
Teatro and Theatre Madrasa-PRA (Turkey). Core of the workshop is: an intercultural and
multidisciplinary approach based on intensive physical training (awareness of body in acting,
fundamentals on movement, awareness of space) and on vocal work (breath, relation between
movement and voice, fundamentals on singing) as well as on the elaboration of art techniques,
considered as a critical instrument against discrimination and conflict.
The main issue of the work concerns the question of walls, as concrete tokens of separate worlds in
situations of conflict and of lack of mutual recognition.
The workshop includes an intensive work schedule (8/10 hours a day).
It targets a group of max 25 young professional actors and actresses from Turkey, European Union
and other countries.
Dates: 23 September-30 September 2013
Location: Theatre Madrasa- Șirince-Turkey
www.theatremadrasa.org
The participation is free. Selected participants will be asked to pay only a security deposit that will
be refunded at the end of residency. Payable at registration: 50 €
