2. EDUCATIONAL SITES AND PORTALS
A lot of information are found in the net. These can be explored and studied to determine their
relevance to the lesson. These are concerned parties that host educational services through
websites and portals. Like a door, the portal opens to a virtual room where activities, tools,
applications, articles provide ideas and suggest ways on the use of technology tools.
One example that can be further explored is EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY AND MOBILE
LEARNING. This blog site is a rich repository of tools and applications assembled and curated
for teacher and educators by teachers.

The administrator of this site allows users to download, print and share the materials just as
long as proper citation is done and that the materials are shared free of charge.

4. What is the right mindset of a teacher in using the digital
tool?
Working on a particular tool at the moment will for sure change, as designers continually work to
upgrade the features and design the tools to integrate new aspects. This is expected. That is why,
knowing a digital tool and its features may not be enough because there is a tendency of it evolving
through time.
As you prepare to become a teacher by learning how to utilize there digital tools, you need to have the
right mindset or a way of thinking how these tools can be effectively integrated in the lesson. A lot of
teachers may find it daunting to use a technology tool in a lesson. The anxiety to explore the
possibility can be overwhelming, but for one who has the openness to learn and continuously study
the features of the tool can possibly lead to a more productive way of designing a technology-
enhanced lesson.

5. Hold on to the positive attitude and openness to learn. Nurture the curiosity
and sustain the passion to improve practice. Persevere as you learn to adapt to
the evolving digital tool.
Once you get the habit of exploring the tools perhaps taking one step at a time
and expanding your ideas on how creatively use the appropriate tool in a class,
you will eventually see your transformation as a teacher who is becoming more
relevant and effective in teaching content while at the same time develop
learners’ capacity to be creative and think critically.

storytelling can operate outside of institutions or organizations, although
many organizations such as museums and libraries are using digital
storytelling to help achieve their goals for community engagement. There is
no experience required, but that does not mean that it is easy. Effective
digital storytelling uses the multimedia components of narrative, text,
and sound (e.g., music, narration). Many people discover digital storytelling
through workshops on how to use multimedia technology. Through the
digital competencies, and literacies learned in these environments,
storytellers can continue creating on their own.

their stories using expressive

and many more.

One of the easiest and simple
tools students can use to tell
their stories in the form of a
presentation or slideshow. Slides
allow you to ‘tell a story
together with rich animations,
customized drawings, seamless
transitions, a variety of themes,
and much more.’

16. Testing and Quizzing tools for teachers
EASY TEST MAKER
creates printable tests and answer
sheets with multiple choice, match the
columns, short answer, true or false and
fill in the blank style questions. The
interface is incredibly easy to navigate
with an all-inclusive sidebar. Printable
tests with consistent formatting are
created with ease and can be saved
online to access again at any time.

Conqr uses a crowd-sourced
bank to create a variety of learning
tools which can be downloaded for
offline access. It also has an online
community that allows you to
collaborate with other teachers and
get feedback from students.

Create exams, educational games
and assessments for online use. The
tests are highly customizable and
suitable for all devices, including
smartphones. The focus of this site
making assessment and learning
for students. It integrates well with
social media and the interface is
well-suited for younger students.

20. Help Teaching is a Common
Core-aligned resource site
offers content and quiz making
for printable tests. It has a wide
range of content which can be
filtered according to grade level
and subject. The formatting is
limited but the shared resources
are ideal for inexperienced
teachers.

21. Photo and Image Editing Tools for Teachers
Made by Adobe, Photoshop
Express Editor provides a suite of
free photo editing functions. If you
normally use Photoshop you might
find it limiting but for most other
people it provides an easy way to
make simple corrections to your
photos. The best feature is the
range of filters, and you can create
an account for file storage and
sharing functionality.

22. SNAPSEED
One of the great things about
Snapseed is that you can edit a
photo taken on your phone,
make the image pop and share
it easily to social media. The
fine tuning features are
awesome, with the best part
being the ‘details’ adjustment
with the sharpen and structure
tools. It’s got some great filters
and overlays too.

23. PIXLR
Not only is it available on the phone, but
it’s got three different web versions
depending on the type of image editing you
want to do. The Playful version has some fun
filters while the Express version has a huge
range of adjustments and effects, including
seasonal ones. And the Advanced version is
more like Photoshop. This has rapidly
become favorite online image editor,
because it’s so easy to use and has a ton of
editing options.

24. AVIARY
Aviary’s mission statement is to “Make the
world’s creation accessible.” Although their
mission is a little vague, their free image
editing application is surprisingly robust for
tools you can access completely for free.
Aviary is a free, online digital editing
software application to manipulate photos
and images, or create your own. This tool is
best suited for people who already have
some knowledge of digital image
manipulation. If you are a novice or cannot
afford to purchase high-end software – the
tools are great and worth mastering but
expect a fairly intense learning curve.

25. PICNIK
Picnik allows you to edit things in a variety of ways.
You can crop, rotate, resize, edit exposure, edit
colors, sharpen, fix red eye, and auto fix. The auto-
fix tool is cool, because it will take inconsistencies
in the photo, and spruce them up a little big. But
all of the other tools are pretty much self
explanatory. Picnik has many tools found in full-
fledged image editing programs such as adjusting
exposure, contrast and shadows and highlights.
Picnik offers all the basic tools to crop, resize,
rotate, sharpen and fix red-eye. It also has plenty
of special effects and filters and other advanced
controls to fine-tune photos. Whatever tool or
feature you use, instructions are provided in pop-
up windows at the time you access them.

30. Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform, used
as educational technology in schools and other
educational institutions. Its learning games,
"Kahoots", are multiple-choice quizzes that
allow user generation and can be accessed via a
web browser or the Kahoot app.
Kahoot! can be used to review students'
knowledge, for formative assessment, or as a
break from traditional classroom activities.
Kahoot! also includes trivia quizzes.
