mind. Home is defined as "a house, apartment, or other shelter that is the usual residence of a
person, family, or household" ("Home"). Depending on the person and the type of environment they
grew up in, you would most certainly get many different answers. In my opinion, home isn't just a
place that you live in, but a place of peace and acceptance, and a place that you share with your

Identifying an unknown substance can be accomplished with the use of multiple scientific tests.
Conducting these experiments will narrow down the possibilities of the unknown compound. The
number of the unknown substance that I was given was A84841BIR, It posed to be a challenge since
I needed to test three different molecular combinations for this specific substance. Once the number
of moles the in substance was calculated using the ideal gas law, I divided it from the sample mass
number. After vaporizing away the unknown compound, I then concluded that the molarity of my
unknown chemical was 58.93 g/mol. To find my molecular formula I calculated the mass of each
element, then the moles, lastly I took the smallest whole–number ratio. Using the molarity
calculated I was able to do some research to get a better understanding of what my unknown

Introduction
Appearance versus reality is a pertinent theme in Plato's dialogues. Yet, the precise nature of truth,
the good and the beautiful all rely on contradiction, which the philosopher uses in his discussion of
an ideal civil society. To properly understand Plato's motivation, it is necessary to briefly explain his
historical context: Athenian democracy and the Peloponnesian War had wreaked havoc on civil

The Peloponnesian War lasted from 431–404 BCE, which pitted the Athenians against Sparta to the
south, after the latter had attempted repeated invasions into Attica. The war was extremely brutal
and lead to a significant loss of life, which lead Plato to the idea that to govern one must be virtuous
and ruthless, and that defending the city against those outside its borders is best left to guardians
educated in important ethical and practical matters of governance. Therefore, Plato suggests it is
necessary to be courageous and that those given the responsibility to rule in defence of a city must
exercise virtue, for only through virtue can one confront the important day to day decisions needed
to safeguard the polis from harm.
Plato also believed that rulers must reflect the good in their ability to reason. For the good of the
city, we must "seek out craftsmen who are by nature able to pursue what is fine and graceful in their

Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband focuses on the timeless issue of public perception of public figures,
the tendency to idealize those in the public eye, and to turn on those who make mistakes. Much of
the plot could conceivably occur within modern American politics. Like those of Wilde's 1890s
London, modern politicians must contend with pitfalls associated with morality, corruption, and
invasive media coverage. The American public holds politicians to a higher moral standard than they
hold themselves. They will accept sin in themselves, but find it intolerable it in elected officials.
Wilde shows this double standard. Lord Goring warns Sir Robert that "[...] in England a man who
can't talk morality twice a week to a large, popular, immoral audience is quite over as a serious ...
Sir Robert Chiltern tells his wife, "...Gertrude, public and private life are different things. They have
different laws, and move on different lines" (44). In Sir Robert's opinion, it is fine if a person acts
differently behind closed doors than in public as long as the private behavior remains unknown. Sir
Robert has excellent public morals and receives praise for his character. However, his past private
decisions show morals based on power and money. It is possible that most people would agree with
Lady Chiltern's response to Sir Robert contending, "they should both represent man at his highest. I
see no difference between them" (44). When a public figure's private mistakes become public,
people quickly demand an apology or a resignation. Multiple politicians have resigned after
publicized affairs. These affairs are personal family matters but the official feels pressure to leave
office due to the loss of public trust. This forced resignation seems ironic, due to the high rate of
