WRITING LESSON
OBJECTIVES
TIME-BOUND &
TERMINAL
RESULT-
ORIENTED &
RELEVANTATTAINABLE
MEASURABLE
SPECIFIC
Students’ mastery of the content such
as facts, concepts, skills, and
generalizations
Emphasis on student outcomes as
manifested in their performance.
Focus is on the learning content
a) Learner Objectives – it is not concerned with
what teachers are supposed to do but rather with
what students or learners must be able to do after
teaching.
b) Behavioural & Specific Objectives – describe
the specific and observable behaviour that
students are expected to display after the
intervention.
Focus on mental skills like
observation, organizing, categorizing,
evaluating, drawing, inferences, and the
like.
Focus or emphasis is process
The process of breaking down the
learner’s task into logical sequence of steps
to achieve the intended outcome.
The subtasks broken down from the
main learner’s task after the process of
task analysis
I. To solve subtraction problems
1) To arrange sets of numbers to be
subtracted
2) To add numbers
3) To identify pus and minus signs
4) To recognize the meaning of numbers
5) To write numbers
a) Knowledge/ Recall
b) Comprehension
c) Application
d) Analysis
e) Synthesis
f) Evaluation
a) Receiving
b) Responding
c) Valuing
d) Organization
e) Characterization
a) Reflex Movements
b) Fundamental Movements
c) Perceptual Abilities
d) Physical Abilities
e) Skilled Movements
f) Non-discursive Communication
a) Performance – the behaviour that the learner
displays if he learned what was intended for
him to learn.
b) Condition – the circumstances under which
the learner is able to perform or exhibit the
learned behaviour
c) Criterion of Success – the standard against
which the learner’s performance is evaluated
for us to be able to tell whether or not the
learner’s objective has been attained.
Example:
Within sixty minutes, the
student must be able to answer
a 100-item multiple-choice
examination on the topic of
pollution with 80% accuracy.

Writing Lesson Objectives

  • 3. Students’ mastery of the content such as facts, concepts, skills, and generalizations Emphasis on student outcomes as manifested in their performance. Focus is on the learning content
  • 4. a) Learner Objectives – it is not concerned with what teachers are supposed to do but rather with what students or learners must be able to do after teaching. b) Behavioural & Specific Objectives – describe the specific and observable behaviour that students are expected to display after the intervention.
  • 5. Focus on mental skills like observation, organizing, categorizing, evaluating, drawing, inferences, and the like. Focus or emphasis is process
  • 6. The process of breaking down the learner’s task into logical sequence of steps to achieve the intended outcome. The subtasks broken down from the main learner’s task after the process of task analysis

  • 12. a) Performance – the behaviour that the learner displays if he learned what was intended for him to learn. b) Condition – the circumstances under which the learner is able to perform or exhibit the learned behaviour c) Criterion of Success – the standard against which the learner’s performance is evaluated for us to be able to tell whether or not the learner’s objective has been attained.
  • 13. Example: Within sixty minutes, the student must be able to answer a 100-item multiple-choice examination on the topic of pollution with 80% accuracy.
