2. What is Web-Based
Learning?
Internet based learning comprised all forms of
electronically supported learning and teaching. The
Information and communication systems, whether
networked or not, serve as specific media to
implement the learning process .
Often referred to as online education. Students have
electronic access to the teacher and other students
through e-mail, electronic bulletin boards, online chat
rooms, e-mail lists, etc.

3. Advantages
One major advantage is that allows anyone,
anywhere, to study anything
A second major advantage is that some types of
web-based learning allow students to progress at
their own pace. The ability to work through the
material at the student’s own pace is a dramatic
advantage over traditional teaching methods.

Often time-consuming to develop and
implement
May be difficult to design in ways that
have significant, positive impact on
student’s learning

Keypals- electronic pen pals
Electronic Mentoring- uses mentoring electronically industry professionals
or a corporation can helps students develop the skills and foundation to
pursue their interests successfully
Virtual Field Trips – take a trip without ever loading the bus
Group Product Development- students develop presentations
collaboratively online using tools such as Google Drive and C-Map

Analysis
Webquests – gives students a scenario and tasks to do in response to that
scenario; usually they have a problem to solve or a project to complete.

students can develop their potential for learning
Real Life Data Analysis
Scavenger Hunts -A scavenger hunt focuses on a particular theme and is
designed to introduce learners to using search engines to find information
on the internet.

Social Action Projects- students learn about global, social,
economic, political issues.
Problem Based Learning-instruction is a process by which
the teacher facilitates student learning, rather than
directing it
