Based Service Company
Service America Enterprise Inc., known for its exceptional home service and yellow vans
throughout Florida, becomes a private company.
FT. LAUDERDALE, FL — June 6, 2005 — A group of long term employees of Service

throughout the company. ‘This was a real good move for the company” states Roxanne Hardy,

to listen to what our customers wants and needs are and he’s always here for the employees.”
“This is an exciting opportunity for all of our employees and our customers who will directly

local communities,” reiterated Mr. Heaney
Service America’s senior management team and its business plan will remain largely unchanged.

family feeling to the company – like what we had 10,15,20 years ago as Amira.”
Service America will look to concentrate on further expanding its Florida customer base, but not
lose sight that service to current and potential customers is key.
2. “We can now better concentrate on providing top quality service by re-investing in our
employees and our customers and becoming a great community company,” states Jim Gallo,
vice-president of business development and human resources. “We have some great plans for
growth over the next year, particularly in the communities we serve. You will see some great
things from us, so keep on the lookout.”

representatives, in-house customer call center, and overall great employees and customer service
gives us an advantage in our industry.”

Fall 2003
Dear Colleague:
I hope that the new semester is off to a good start! I would like to remind you that a unique
career development resource for undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and junior faculty
is available at your institution. A campus-wide subscription has been purchased by your
institution for Science’s Next Wave, (www.nextwave.org), the premier weekly electronic journal
dedicated to the career development of early career scientists. The site includes weekly news,
alternative career profiles, discussion forums, academic career advice, and funding information.
This is a service that is being supported by over 125 research universities, independent research
labs, government agencies, and professional societies in the United States, as well as over 200
universities in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore, and the Netherlands.
Moreover, thanks to collaboration with the European Science Foundation, young scientists in 27
countries across Europe now have access to Next Wave through our new pan-European portal.
We would also like to remind you of our exciting portals, such as the Minority Scientists
Network, www.MiSciNet.org. As part of Next Wave, MiSciNet has two major emphases:
supporting the Science, Math, and Engineering education of underrepresented minority students
on the undergraduate level; and encouraging those students to make transitions into graduate
education. Published twice a month, the Minority Scientists Network covers the following:
student issues, mentoring issues and community involvement through a portal web site, national
meetings, and local activities. A variety of activities will also be conducted at the campus level to
increase involvement.
Also, look for Next Wave features like The Career Doctor and Industry Insider!
Please help the early career scientists at your institution by alerting them to Next Wave. I am
confident they will benefit from the information and interactions on the site and that it will serve
as an important enhancement to your institution’s career services. Remember that no passwords
or log-ins are necessary as long as a campus computer is used.
The enclosed brochures and posters explain more about Next Wave and the Minority Scientists
Network. Please place the posters in an area where undergraduates, graduate students and
postdocs can see them (like coffee/lunch rooms, libraries, lecture halls or bulletin boards). I
would be happy to send additional posters or brochures for you to distribute. Just call or email
me using the information below. Thank you for your assistance.

Dear Administrator,
Welcome to the Next Wave Community! Science’s Next Wave, www.nextwave.org, is the premier
weekly on-line journal dedicated to the career development of undergraduates, graduates, postdocs, and
junior faculty.
As part of Next Wave, The Minority Scientist Network (www.miscinet.org) has two major emphases:
supporting the Science, Math, and Engineering education of underrepresented minority students on the
undergraduate level; and encouraging those students to make transitions into graduate education. The
Minority Scientist Network (MiSciNet) covers areas such as student issues, mentoring issues and
community involvement through portal web sites, career development, national meetings, and local
activities.
An important feature of MiSciNet is our campus representative program. Next Wave’s existing Campus
Representative Program has proven instrumental in raising usage and awareness on campuses across the
US, Canada, and the UK. Campus representatives act as our “eyes and ears” on campus, helping to
promote the site as well as providing valuable feedback to us from their peers. We are now instituting the
MiSciNet Campus Representative Program for minority undergraduate students, in the sciences, at your
institution.
In the role of a MiSciNet campus representative, students are able to gain valuable experience and
networking contacts away from the bench by interacting with their fellow students and with campus
administrators.
Some other benefits of becoming a MiSciNet campus representative include:
• Students developing their leadership skills!
• Students receive a stipend!
• Looks great on their resume!
We would like your assistance. We would appreciate if you or your staff can recommend students for this
program. If you should have any students in mind, please forward their contact information (name and e-
mail address) to me and I will provide them with more information.
I look forward to working with you and your program!
