3. Hepatocellular carcinoma is a type of adenocarcinoma .
Modern treatment options are surgery, radiation therapy,
chemotherapy etc after which several side effects and
complications are seen.
Pippali, useful in hepatic diseases and Ayapaatra pippali
are taken for comparative study for their in-vitro
cytotoxicity.
Preliminary invitro screening permits enormous level of
simplification of the system under study, reduce costs,
more directly assess product performance.
4. The proposed herbomineral combination is expected
to target the cancer cells and produce a synergistic
anticancer effect and enhance efficacy of pippali in
the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
This study may help as a pointer in advancing drug
research against cancer in Ayurveda field.
7. Recent work on piper longum’s bactericidal and
anticancer properties on human lung adenocarcinoma-
HCC 827 cells by S.S Sawhney explores the scope of
utility of pippali in the present study

13. Nanoparticles are colloidal particles that range in size
from 10-1000nm in diameter in which a therapeutic agent
can be entrapped, adsorbed or chemically coupled
Due to this versatality in targeting tissues and controlling
drug release, nanoparticles help to face challenges

and most common type of primary liver cancer.
3rd most common cause of death from cancer worldwide,

Pathobiology- chronic hepatic injury resulting from
viruses, alcohol, metabolic or autoimmune diseases-
repeated liver cell death, regeneration, repair
Symptoms- non specific- anorexia, weight loss, fatigue,
low grade fever, epigastric pain, cirrhosis, jaundice etc
