11 products and having more than 29 branches across India .V-Guard registered a gross
turnover of over Rs 1000 crores (as on 31st March 2012). V-Guard enjoys brand popularity
all over India and is now making a global presence with its increasing exports and
markets spread over the world.
V-Guard's Big Idea Business Plan contest 2012 (Season 2) prods students from B-schools
across India to get creative and come up with new business avenues for V-Guard.
Students are free to identify any growth opportunities, with both conventional and
unconventional plans, taking off from the following cues:
V-Guard, a market leader in South India, has extended its presence across the country
over the last six years establishing a foundation in Non South Markets.
Going forward, what should V-Guard be adopting to become a leading player in Non -
South Markets?
4. To Support its long term growth V-Guard is entering the small house hold appliances
segment.
What strategy and approach should the company adopt to become a leading player in
this market segment?
The contest comprises of different phases. The teams have to register online before 28th
September, 2012 .An online brief will be sent to the registered teams. The teams would
then have to submit a short executive summary of their business plan for V-Guard. The
top 10 teams shortlisted will then advance to the contest's finals. The Top 10 teams should
then submit their final written report of the plan on or before 1st November 2012. This will
be followed by an oral presentation before the Top Management of V- Guard. The
performance of the teams would be evaluated based on the written report and the oral
presentation .The first prize is Rs. 1, 00,000, the second prize Rs. 30,000 and the third prize
Rs 20,000 .And two special jury awards of Rs 10,000 each. The Business Plan Contest Finals
will be held on November 10th 2012.
5. Phase -I
Registration (28th September 2012)
Each team should register online, on or before 28th September 2012 and then send
the non – refundable participation fee along with the printout of the registration
form before 7th October 2012.
Participation fee should be remitted either online or by Demand Draft drawn in
favor of V-Guard Industries Ltd, payable at Kochi. Our account details for online

6. Phase -II
Online Briefing
An online brief will be sent to all the registered teams by 28th
September 2012.
Phase -III
Executive Summary Submission (7th October 2012)
All the teams will have to submit the executive summary online on or
before 7th October 2012.
Phase -IV
Declaration of Finalists (12th October 2012)
Top 10 teams will be shortlisted based on the reports submitted. The
teams shortlisted will be intimated through their mail id.
Phase -V
Final report Submission (1st November 2012)
Each team selected for the final will then submit the final report of
their business plan on or before 1st November 2012.
Phase -VI
Business Plan Contest Finals (10th November 2012)
The teams will make an oral presentation before the judges on 10th
November 2012
