Hi my name is Dancayra Rosario. I am 15 years
old and I go to New Heights Academy Charter
School. This project is for geometry for my
teacher Ms.Bush. The goal of doing this is to
describe and explain the details of a rectangle.
Basic Properties of a
         Parallelogram
O Basic Properties:
 A rectangle has four sides and two pairs
have the same length. Also, in order to find
the diagonals of a rectangle, a person must
use the Pythagorean theorem.
 Specific Properties:
       A rectangle is a plane figure with four right angles
and congruent diagonals. Also, its opposite sides are
parallel and congruent. The consecutive angles are
supplementary. The length of opposite sides are equal.
Also the diagonals bisect each other.
Similarity

  Comparison :
        All of the parallelograms are similar to one
another because, each of their angles must add up to a
total of 360°. So then each angle equals 90°. Rectangles
opposite sides are all parallel. Plus, they each have four
sides. They each are quadrilaterals.
Difference
 Thisshape is unlike other parallelograms
  because the rectangle has adjacent
  angles that are equal. A rhombus is a
  quadrilateral with four equal sides and a
  rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right
  angles. Rectangles are mostly different
  from others because all angles add up to
  90 degrees.
PROBLEM
The perimeter of a rectangular pool is 56 meters. If the length of the
pool is 16 meters, then find its width.
Here the perimeter and the length of the rectangular pool are given.
We have to find the width of the pool.
Solution
   The perimeter P of a rectangle is given by the formula, P = 2l +
    2w , where l is the length and w is the width of the rectangle.

Given that, the perimeter is 56 meters and the length is 16 meters.
So, substitute these values into the formula.
P=2l+2w / 56=2(16)+2w
Simplify.
56=32+2w
Subtract 32 from both sides.
24 = 2w
Divide each side by 2.
12 = w
Therefore, the width of the rectangular pool is 12 meters

    Laptops
    Dictionary
    Pools
    Erasers
These 5 all have four right
angles, parallel sides, 90° angles . Plus
all 5 examples have four sides.
CONCLUSION
 I believe that this project was a learning
    experience for me because I didn’t understand
    this that much but now I do. Like for example I
    learned that the adjacent angles are equal and all
    of the angles added up are 360 degrees. Also I
    learned that a rectangle is a plane figure. If it
    wasn’t for this project I wouldn’t have known how
    much rectangles are important and how much it
    is used in life, it might not be as important as
    color but many things are used in the shape of a
    rectangle. I actually liked the photo story because
    it lets me express how the object looks and how
    people might see it.
