Sketchbook Challenge
1.
2. Moleskine Sketchbooks come in a variety of sizes and styles. For this challenge you will choose either the pocket sized (3.5 X 5.5”)or large (5 X 8.25”) Moleskine sketchbook.
3. Use the sketchbook to draw what you see around you and experiment with materials. This drawing uses both graphite pencil and colored pencil.
4. Simple drawings can be just as interesting to record as more complex ones. The best sketchbooks have some of each.
5. Feel free to use any materials you want and even incorporate collage. The more you play in your sketchbook, the more familiar with your materials you become.
6. Practicing patterns can really help to develop your skills with pen and ink and line quality.
7. This might seem like a silly design, but look at all the practice with line weight and pen that went into this doodle.
8. This sketchbook page is great- it experiments with color, pen and composition. However, for our challenge you must not leave a page blank!
9.
10. Pencil and charcoal will work in the sketchbook, but when you finish the drawing it is always a good idea to use workable fixative to seal it to the page!
