A GUIDE TO CONDUCTING A FEEDBACK SESSION AT WORK
Allow 60-90 minutes
1. Select small group of trusted people to a face-to-face (group or individual) session
2. Set ground rules for the session
3. Ask for feedback:
• What people have observed and already know about you? [open, blind spot]
• What people do not know about you but would like to know? [hidden]
• What’s the general perception of me? [open, blind]
• What the individual/team knows that you don’t know? [blind spot]
• What people see as your greatest strength? [open, blind spot]
• What 1 thing you could change that would have the greatest impact on my
success? [open, blind spot]
4. What 5 values do they use to describe you [open, hidden, blind spot]

• Be mentally prepared.
• Practice active listening and have a curious
mindset.
• Manage your reaction:

  • 18. A GUIDE TO CONDUCTING A FEEDBACK SESSION AT WORK Allow 60-90 minutes 1. Select small group of trusted people to a face-to-face (group or individual) session 2. Set ground rules for the session 3. Ask for feedback: • What people have observed and already know about you? [open, blind spot] • What people do not know about you but would like to know? [hidden] • What’s the general perception of me? [open, blind] • What the individual/team knows that you don’t know? [blind spot] • What people see as your greatest strength? [open, blind spot] • What 1 thing you could change that would have the greatest impact on my success? [open, blind spot] 4.
