2. The 1918 influenza pandemic, also known as the “Spanish Flu” was a highly contagious
and deadly disease. The virus was H1N1, and caused an estimated 40 million deaths
worldwide in less than one year. From 1918-1920, it killed somewhere between 50 million
and 100 million people across the globe; no other event in the past 100 years has had such
a negative impact worldwide.
La pandemia de gripe de 1918, también conocida como la "gripe española" fue una
enfermedad altamente contagiosa y mortal. Fue el virus H1N1, y causó estimadamente 40
millones de muertes en todo el mundo en menos de un año. Desde1918 a 1920, mató a
