Imagine you need to get a project done with someone that you do not trust, respect, or like. In this talk, I break down how you can work with almost anyone.
3. Ralphie from Hell
Years ago, I worked with a leader who looked
like Ralphie from a Christmas Story. I had a
terrible experience because:
• No Trust. Ralphie was undermining me
during the workshop and beyond.
• No Respect. Ralphie was insecure, so he
insulted other people to feel better.
It is hard to work with people that you don’t
like, trust, or respect. But, it can be done.

21. The Return of Ralphie
We butted heads in the workshop. We did not
take it personal. Ralphie was under a large
amount of pressure.
• We Built Trust. Ralphie started to trust me
once we had a great review by the CEO.
• We Built Respect. Ralphie received a nice
promotion because of the work we did.
• We Built Boundaries. Ralphie has certain
responsibilities and I have mine. It works.
