Focus on published literature, specifically journal literature where citation analysis tools more developed.
Open Access also currently in the UK is focussed on journal literature, although there are moves from HEFRCE and RCUK to look beyond this in the future, and indeed in Australia the Australian Research Councils already are.
THIS MEANS WE ARE ALSO HEAVILY INVOLVED NOT JUST IN SUPPORTING YOUR RESEARCH IN TERMS OF RESOURCES AND SUBJECT INFORMATION, BUT WE ARE EMBEDDED IN THE WIDER ISSUES AND POLICY DIRECTIONS AFFECTING RESEARCHERS AND YOUR FUTURE RESEARCH CAREERS.

The ConneXions facility is something you may encounter when you’re searching electronic databases … it allows you to connect seamlessly with the Durham catalogue and other indexes, so you can see whether we have the particular item. Particularly useful for connecting seamlessly to electronic journals
We offer access to other HE libraries by way of reciprocal schemes – SCONUL Access allows you to borrow from other participating libraries – info and form on the web pages or ask in the Library
Document delivery service – interlibrary loan. For a small cost we can obtain material for you from other libraries. Subsidised for some depts – see info on DDS section of library web pages or ask in the dept.
Internally, if you want to borrow something which is in Queen’s Campus library, we can arrange for that to be brought here as an intersite loan. Details on the Library web pages or ask staff

Mention not limited to arts/humanities. Work on Lindisfarne Gospels exhibition (inks, dies and processes and chemicals available) as well as collections which could still the basis of new research projects.
Log books of 18th and 19th century shipping has been used to measure and model weather and climate change around the world, manuscripts offer the opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration on why and how they were created, by whom, and the trade networks which must have existed to provide access to various dyes, materials and compounds used to create inks and dyes used. Likewise, some collections offer the opportunity to explore social and economic data on places such as the Sudan over two centuries.
You can engage, interact and contact us via Twitter or facebook, or by email or phone, or we are currently trialling a 24/7 online chat enquiry service in partnership with other universities internationally.
