8. Brand.
Founded in 1856, Burberry today remains quintessentially British, with outerwear at its core.
Digital luxury positioning and the optimisation across innovative mediums of the trench coat, trademark check and
Prorsum knight heritage icons make the brand purer, more compelling and more relevant globally, across genders and
generations.
Company Overview.
Burberry is a distinctive luxury brand with international recognition and broad appeal. They design, source,
manufacture and distribute high-quality apparel and accessories. Among their innovations was the invention of
gabardine, the world's first weatherproof and breathable fabric, and the footballer's pattern of choice - the
Burberry check.
Sales are strong in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East through 151 retail locations. Wholesale
customers include leading and prestige department stores, specialty retailers and franchise partners. In 2003/04,
the total retail value of products sold globally under the Burberry brand was approximately £2.5 billion.
9. Business.
Disciplined execution, constant evolution and balance across channels, regions and products
underpin the management of the business.
Innovative product design, digital marketing initiatives and dynamic retail strategies drive
consistent performance.

The Burberry strategy: nurture and evolve the Burberry brand; continue to develop and expand the
product portfolio; expand the directly operated store network; selectively build wholesale
distribution; support growth in Japan; and enhance operational capabilities.
10. Culture.
A closely connected, creative thinking culture encourages
cross-functional
collaboration, intuition and a meritocratic ethos.

cheques.
If you currently receive your dividends via cheque and would like them paid directly into your bank
account instead, please contact our Registrars.

Burberry believes that to be a great brand, it must also be a great
company !!.
Burberry constantly leverages the energy of its creative thinking culture for positive change, from its
own organisation, to its business partnerships, wider community engagement and societal and
environmental impact.
Commitment to its extended global community is at the heart of the Burberry core values: to Protect,
Explore and Inspire, and the business strives to evolve its practices in line with these principles.
31. BURBERRY FOUNDATION
Established in 2008, the Burberry Foundation is a philanthropic
organisation dedicated to helping young people realise their
dreams and potential through the power of their creativity.
Through the generous donations of Burberry, its employees and customers, the Foundation
works to help young people gain confidence, build connections in their communities, and
grasp opportunities to succeed.
We accomplish these goals by granting financial support and combining that with the
knowledge, creativity and dedication of Burberry employees. A key extension of the tradition
of philanthropy at the company, the Burberry Foundation provides a strategic platform for
Burberry’s engagement in community initiatives and builds charitable giving in key regions
where the majority of Burberry employees live and work.
32. WORKING AT BURBERRY
With its 150 year heritage, Burberry is among
the world's most recognised luxury brands
“The brand's democratic positioning allows the company to operate in retail and
wholesale channels across the globe. Our teams design, market and sell a broad range of
luxury women's and men's apparel and accessory products, including the iconic trench
coat. As a FTSE 100 company, Burberry attracts talented employees from many nations
and diverse backgrounds. Alongside our brand, Burberry's entrepreneurial team is its
key asset.”
33. How We Work
The Burberry Foundation invests in select charities focused on supporting young
people in the key cities in the regions where the majority of Burberry employees
live and work. The Foundation facilitates and encourages Burberry employees to
participate in volunteer roles with our charity partners, and also makes in-kind
donations, often merchandise donated by Burberry, as and when appropriate.
Because of our long-term commitments to charity partners, and the
Foundation's tendency to proactively seek projects for funding, we do not
accept unsolicited requests for support; however, we are always interested in
hearing about innovative programmes that fit within our funding priorities and
empower the creative spirit in young people.
