2013
To
whom
it
may
concern:
I
am
writing
to
commend
Caelyn
Pu
on
her
leadership
qualities.
As
a
recipient
of
the
WorldStrides
2013
China
Top
Scholars
award,
a
highly
selective
award
in
which
just
20
students
from
across
China
were
awarded
a
full-‐scholarship
to
attend
an
elite
educational
travel
and
leadership
program
in
the
United
States,
Caelyn
attended
leadership
training
at
the
Meridian
Global
Leadership
Institute.
During
the
program,
she
distinguished
herself
amid
a
group
of
outstanding
Chinese
and
American
students.
Based
in
Washington
D.C.,
the
Meridian
Global
Leadership
Institute
advances
the
understanding
of
global
issues
and
develops
the
unique
organizational
and
personal
competencies
needed
to
engage
stakeholders
and
compete
successfully
in
the
ever-‐evolving
global
environment.
Our
programs
provide
the
knowledge,
insights,
skills,
and
tools
that
can
make
the
difference
between
success
and
failure
when
operating
or
launching
new
initiatives
across
borders.
The
leadership
training
focused
on
topics
such
as
developing
global
comprehension,
personal
leadership,
and
problem
solving
through
collaboration.
Throughout
the
training,
I
and
my
team
noticed
that
Caelyn
contributed
proactively
to
the
discussion,
and
was
often
the
first
to
ask
a
question.
Caelyn’s
people
skills
and
emphasis
on
communication
was
also
evident
in
her
final
project.
She
wrote
of
striving
to
reach
the
highest
level
of
leadership,
developing
the
abilities
of
others,
and
how
experiencing
culture
through
travel
and
meeting
different
people
is
integral
to
sculpting
one’s
belief
system.
Caelyn
shows
every
sign
of
becoming
a
mature,
future
leader.
As
an
emerging
global
citizen,
Caelyn
embodies
the
values
of
the
Meridian
Global
Leadership
Institute.
I
am
proud
to
call
her
a
Meridian
alumnus,
and
expect
great
things
from
her.
Sincerely,
Ambassador
Stuart
Holliday
