It is one of the very important factors of an
organization concerned with the biological and
personal qualities of human beings
It greatly facilitates a better understanding of self in
relation to others
It is primarily concerned with understanding,
prediction and control of human behaviour at work
It helps people to know and understand the
behavioural emotions, perceptions and attitudes of
colleagues and associates in an organization

Perception : It refers to awareness of objects,
qualities or events that register in our mind. It is an
experience of the world
Halo Type : A tendency to evaluate several
specific traits on the basis of one trait valued
immensely by us. A punctual employee may be
seen as an efficient employee

Stereo Type : Judgements made about
people on the basis of their ethics,
affiliation or profession or any form of
groupings
Projection : It means relieving one’s feeling
guilt or failure by projecting blame on to
some one else

Pygmalian Effect : A tendency of people
appearing to do what they believed they were
expected to do by others. It is self-fulfilling
because the expectations of others have
tremendous power to elicit the desired behaviour

Upward communication : A communication from lower level
to higher level
Downward communication : A communication from higher
level to lower level
Horizontal communication : Communication between equals
and peers, research reports and in house newsletters, grape
vine and social occasions etc
Personality : It is an aspect of human behaviour how an
individual influences others through his external appearance. It
further signifies the role which that individual displays to the
public

Motivation : It is the process of inspiring and
stimulation people towards action for the
accomplishment of desired goals. It is an inner-state
that energizes, activities or moves and directs
behaviour of people towards goal
Persuasion : It means a convincing and urging by the
use of some inducement in-order to evoke the
desired response. It involves sometimes pressure
and also affection, definitely more than a mere
suggestion

Coercion : It involves force and pressure sometimes
even physical pressure. Some of the tools such as
job security, performance linked increment etc are
instrumental in applying coersion
Emulation : It is the process of influencing the people
by exposing to certain behavioural patterns practiced
by some kind of people.
Suggestion : It is a method of influencing behaviour
of an individual or group by presenting an idea or by
sharing some thought. In some cases it also involves
advocating a particular course of action

Group Dynamics : It is an aspect of organizational
behaviour wherein people interact face to face in
groups in a synergetic manner with their capacities,
thoughts and actions towards achieving the tasks and
targets
Leadership : It is an aspect of organizational
behaviour, the ability to influence and direct a group
towards the achievement of goals. It is the process of
achieving group activities towards the
accomplishment of goals in a given situation
Conflict : A manifestation of serious difference on
account of disagreement with others

responding consistently in a favourable or
unfavourable manner to objects, people and
environment. It reflects how an individual feels about

Job satisfaction : A feeling of contendedness upon
the fulfillment of certain desires and expectations
enjoyed by an employee in the exercise of his duties
holding a position of whatever cadre
The component of remuneration has got a very
limited role in job satisfaction

Cohesiveness : It refers to the closeness, intimacy
among group members in an organization. Highly
cohesive groups are potentially better performers
than non-cohesive groups
Determination : It is a passionate feeling of firmness
towards a purpose or goal
Team work : It is an activity and ability of a group
individuals happened to work at a common work
place for the purpose of achieving results through
collective and effective effort

Persistence : It is an aspect of organizational
behaviour involving continuous and constant efforts
and attempts firmly and obstinately in an opinion or
towards a course of action
Co-operation : It is basically a motto and a tendency
of a person to stretch himself / herself for the purpose
of assisting or helping to another person or set of
persons, generally towards a common goal
Transactional Analysis : It provides an optimistic
theory of behaviour. It has its basic objective to help
individuals understand the ‘moods and modes’ of
behaviour of self as well as those others in a better
position
