The leave rules have been
formulated to enable employees
to maintain a healthy work life
balance. Leave is given to the
associates to provide for sickness ,
emergency , personal work , rest
and recreation.
 Paid leave.
 Casual leave.
 Sick leave.
 Optional leave.
 Maternity leave.
 Paternity leave.
 Exigency leave.
 Privilege leave.
 Compassinate leave.
 Time allowed away from
work for holiday or illness
during which you receive
your normal pay.
Casual leave means when
an emergency stops an
employee from attending
the office and to issue in
prior leave application
Sick leave is the time off from
work that workers can use to
stay home to address their
health and safety needs
without losing their pay.
Once you approve leave, you cannot hold the employee
accountable for work that does not get done during the
absence. In terms of short absences, you may not have to
adjust the deadlines or requirements at all. However, if the
employee is out for an extended time during the opportunity
period, you may need to extend the opportunity period for
the time of the absence to ensure that the employee has a
chance to perform acceptably. Depending upon the nature
of the work, an opportunity period shortened by approved
absence may be valid if the work assignments and
expectations were such that the employee still had the
chance to demonstrate improved performance.
 A period of approved absence for a
female employee granted for the purpose
of giving birth and taking care of infant
children. Maternity leave may last
anywhere from several weeks to a period
of months depending on the organization
, and may be paid or unpaid depending
on policies. A certain amount of maternity
leave may also be legally mandated for
some nations , states, or municipalities.
 Paternity leave or family leave is an
employee benefit available in almost all
countries hat provides paid time off work
to care for a child or make
arrangements for the child's welfare. The
terms "parental leave" and "family leave"
include maternity, paternity, and
adoption leave. Often, the minimum
benefits are stipulated by law.
 Exigency leave refers to a military family leave
provision under FMLA (The Family & Medical Leave
Act). The qualifying exigencies permit eligible
employees who are family members of a covered
military member to take FMLA leave to address the
most common issues that arise when a covered
military member is deployed. Qualifying exigency
may include things such as making arrangements for
childcare, making financial and legal arrangements,
attending counseling relating to the active duty of
the service member, or attending to farewell or
arrival arrangements
 Privilege leave means that an employee
should have rest or recuperation from time
to time for short spells. Privilege leave is also
known as Earned leave.
 Compassionate leave is time away from
your work that your employer allows you
for personal reasons, especially when a
member of your family dies or is seriously
ill.
