BRIDGING THE DIVIDE
As the government’s Digital by Default strategy drives the
nation to get online, an opportunity to tackle the issue of social
inclusion and bridge the digital divide has been created.
It is imperative that responsible social housing providers
look at innovative ways of meeting these challenges to
encourage tenants to become digitally connected as all
governmental transactional services including welfare benefits
go fully online.
6G has the knowledge, social understanding and

housing associations and government channels to help them
comply with the legislation coming into effect and position

therefore it is in everybody’s interest to create a socially
and digitally connected nation.

based around welfare and social strategy reform.
We know that every housing provider has their own social
and financial agenda but reducing overheads and increasing
communication between departments and tenants
remain paramount.
Our revolutionary network provides tenants and housing
associations with the ability to make a positive step towards
achieving this goal.

INNOVATIVE ADDED SERVICES

6G has created a wealth of innovative solutions.
Walled Garden
For example, 6G’s free ‘walled garden’ service has been designed
to enable tenants to visit pre-determined websites which could
include housing association portals, government transactional
platforms, tele-health and job centre sites.
In addition, we can allocate separate, secure networks for housing
association staff to use on mobile devices when visiting tenants.
Backed by a robust service level agreement, 6G enables housing
providers to achieve the digital inclusion strategy at a low cost/risk.
Additional packages outside of the community walled garden
are available and fully scalable to the client’s requirements
at a greatly discounted cost than normally available in
the marketplace.
Pay as you go
Our bespoke pay as you go service has been specifically designed
to give families flexibility when their income fluctuates throughout the
year. This will allow them to benefit from full internet access with no
long term contract or credit checks which are usually the stumbling
blocks for many tenants.
Smart TV
6G Internet can also provide a powerful TV set top box which means
that tenants won’t have to invest in technology such as laptops and
tablets to benefit from social inclusion. Instead, important messages
and features can be communicated via an existing television set.
This set top box will allow users to access a web portal on behalf of
the social housing providers which could be used for online training,
important notices and direct communication.
