This document discusses mockups in user experience design. It defines a mockup as a representation of what a product, website or app will look like when developed. Mockups merge the structure of a wireframe with visual elements like graphics and UI components. The purpose of mockups is to experiment with and incorporate all design elements that will provide the user experience. Mockups are static and non-interactive unlike prototypes. They are more advanced than wireframes by showcasing the final look and feel. Developing mockups makes revisions easier, helps convince stakeholders and reveals if a product is ready for market by showing how users will perceive the interface.
