Employee Grievances
Employee grievance is a formal complaint
which shows the dissatisfaction of employees
that may be related to wages, working hours,
job requirements and other aspects of
employment.

Handling Employee Grievances
There are four approaches of handling
employee grievances :-
 An open door policy
 In this approach, manager should always be
ready to hear the grievances of employees. The
employees are free to come and discuss their
problems with the manager.
 Periodic employee meetings
 In this approach, manager should hold time
to time meetings with the employees to know
the real time problems of the employees.
 Legal Compliance
 In this approach, any complaints of employees
are solved through the legal process or
considering the decisions that was taken
previously on same sort of cases.
Grievance procedures
This approach deals with some of the
procedures/steps that is to be followed by
employees if their grievances are not solved. It is
an formal procedure that an employee makes
within an organization.
The steps for the solution of grievance
according to grievance procedures are :-
Employee Grievances
Appeal with supervisor
Appeal with department head
Appeal with grievance committee
Appeal with chief executive
Appeal with arbitrator
Appeal with labor court
Settlement
