2. His life, his decision and his vision
• At the age of 12, he earned $500 by selling computer game blaster, which he
had created by himself.
• When he was only 17, he decided to leave his home.
• After two year studying in Ontario, finally, his dream came true in 1993, he
earned his BSc degree in physics bachelor, but decided to continue his studying
at Wharton school of the university of Pennsylvania School for one more year
and obtained a BSc degree in Economics as well.

3. First Step
• After two days of joining Stanford university for graduation in
applied physics and material sciences, he left the graduate
school and together with his brother, Kimbel Musk, he
created his first IT company, Zip2.
• In 1999, Musk started to work on electronic payment system
that were gaining popularity.
• X.com start-up become his new business.
• After a year, x.com merge with rival company Confinity.
Confinity developed a software to allow owner of Palm pilots
and PDA to store encrypted information on their device,
creating the first digital wallet.
4. Management skill
• In 2003, engineers Martin Eberhard and MarcTarpenning founded tesla
motors.
• Elon musk came into the project in 2004, leading an investment round in
the start-up with a personal contribution of $70 million.
• Musk participated in designing their first electric car, which was aTesla
Roadster.
• Martin Eberhard strategic miscalculation led to crisis.
• During this crisis, Musk showed his incredible critical management skill;
he fired every one who stalled project developed, Including Eberhard

• In Dec 2007, Ze’ev Drori was assigned as the CEO and president ofTesla
Motors. Elon Musk was much better CEO and succeeded to Ze’ev Drori.

introduced a wall mounted, rechargeable lithium battery, price tag

• Solar city’s concept are cost efficient, environmental friendly and
entirely coincide with Elon Musk’s principle.
6. Failure is not crisis
• Space x was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in California,
USA.
• In 2006-08, the first three flight attempt failed. On 2008, during the
fourth flight attempt falcon 1 finally reached the orbit. If the fourth
launch also failed, space X would be never exited.
• In April 08, 2016, after unsuccessful attempt, space x made history
by landing the first stage of its falcon 9 rocket on a drone ship at
sea.
