8. LEARIE CONSTANTINE - 1928
Origins: TRINIDAD & TOBAGO
He played 18 Test matches before World War II
and took the West Indies first wicket in Test
cricket. An advocate against racial
discrimination in later life he was influential
in the passing of the 1965 Race Relations Act
in Great Britain.
He was made UK’s first black life peer in 1969.

10. SIR FRANK WORRELL - 1948
Origins: BARBADOS
The first black captain of the West Indies.
He was the first of two batsmen to
have been involved in two 500-run partnerships
in first-class cricket,
the latter being Ravindra Jadeja.
Nicknamed: Tae or Flanny
11. SIR CLYDE WALCOTT - 1948
Origins: BARBADOS
Walcott was a member of the "3W’s",
the others being Everton Weekes
and Captain Frank Worrell.
In the mid-1950s,
Walcott was arguably
the best batsman in the world.

Test match by a West Indies bowler, 14/149
The record still stands. He also recorded an amazing
feat of bowling 5473 deliveries, without bowling a
single wide, the most by any player in cricket history.
Nicknamed: “Whispering Death”
due to the quiet approach to the bowling crease.
23. JOEL GARNER - 1977
Origins: BARBADOS
One of the tallest bowlers ever to play Test cricket.
He is one of the two players, the other, Mitchell
Starc with more than 100 ODI wickets to average under
20, while his economy rate of just over 3 runs per
over, an average of less than 20 runs per wicket are
also the best ever for any bowler who took more than
100 wickets.
24. MALCOLM MARSHALL - 1978

Marshall bowling in 1988.
Primarily a fast bowler,
but is regarded as one of the
finest and fastest pacemen
ever to have played Test cricket.
25. COURTNEY WALSH - 1984

He held the record of most Test wickets from 2000,
after he broke the record of Kapil Dev.
Considered with Ambrose, an impeccable duo,
they both shared 421 Test wickets in 49 matches.

‘05 and 333 against Sri Lanka in ‘10.

back-back World Cup titles. They also appeared in 3 consecutive World
