Notice to Competitors
This document is subject to change by the GOAL organisers. The current version of this
document will be available from the GOAL website http://goal.greyorange.com. Any
notifications of changes will be available on the website.
The entries will be governed by, in order of priority, the GOAL Phase II Rules (this document). In
the event of an unlikely inconsistency that impacts teams in an uneven way, the judges will take
this into consideration.
These rules have been designed to address complete information about the program and
present an acceptable criterion for judging the teams for qualification. This is to ensure that a
healthy competition is maintained and that the teams do not exploit loopholes for an unfair
advantage. The Goal technical committee and judges reserve the right to take action against any
team or individual that conducts themselves in a manner contrary to the intent and spirit of the
GOAL program. Competitors are encouraged to alert the organisers if they find any
inconsistencies or loopholes in these rules.

1. THE MISSION
1.a. Overview
The objective of this challenge is to completely develop the aforementioned devices while
keeping all development simple and objective. The cost involved in the project will be
completely borne by GreyOrange India Pvt Ltd. The teams have to submit a battle plan spanning
45 days which will be used to finalize the winners out of the entrants. The details of how to
enter the competition is in this document.
Each team has the option to choose from one of the challenges or apply to both of them.
1.b. Challenge I: Smart Bin
“Designing Smart bin for a smart city”
Ever thought of improving our environmental cleanness using a simple cost effective
arrangement? We challenge you to design a smart bin for a smart city.
The objective is to design a smart dust-bin which can generate & gather data and send to a
central server which can process the same.
The smart bin is stationed in a smart city. The data is gathered to create actionable insights on
how to optimize the stationing of the smart-bins and the schedule of the cleaning crew in the
city.
The bin is a stationary bin. The location is known beforehand. The bin communicates wirelessly
with the server.
The following requirements have to be kept in mind and fulfilled objectively in the battle plan
submission.
Mechanical Requirements
1. Minimum number of bins to be made - 10
2. Lid design should be ergonomic and easy to use

The GOAL Program was named the GOAL program as an acronym for GreyOrange Accelerated
Learning GOAL was launched to make college students more aware of the current ongoing hardware
revolution. The college students are not currently aligned towards electronics, hardware, embedded.
We want them to work towards increasing their technical aptitude. Also they get to know about the
latest technological trends and how the industry in technical domain works.
Through Goal, they get an opportunity to see something that they have made, work.
Grey Orange is selling a free opportunity to spend an amazing summer doing what passionate
people want to do, to increase awareness about the company and to motivate people to join
GreyOrange. Also, increasing industry linkage with universities.
We are looking at getting passionate, intelligent people follow their dreams. Every kid wants to be a
pilot. What happens when they grow up? Look what happened to you and me.
We are targeting students who are passionate towards building crazy tech hardware. This is the
college crowd.
From freshers to final year students all across the globe. We want passionate, like minded,
multidisciplinary people who are great at working as a team, achieving a common goal: The very idea
of building that something, just the idea of which gets your adrenalin pumping
