1. Newsletter5. (15-05-2013)
Results of the 1st EDEN Facebook Thematic Campaign .
During last two weeks (01.-14. of May) we have been running EDEN’s first thematic
campaign on Facebook. As you all know the theme of that was "Canoeing and Kayaking in
EDEN - European Destinations of Excellence".
A great “Danke!“ to Antje and Carsten of Kanustation Anklam for sponsoring the
Facebook Photo Contest. Winner of the contest goes to a free 2 days canoe trip for 2
people on Peene river, EDEN destination in Germany.
And the winner is...
2. Congratulations Runar Karsson from Iceland !
Runar posted to EDEN Facebook Page a picture of people sea kayaking in Hornstrandir
Nature Reserve, Westfjords of Iceland. This picture got 94 “likes”!
What did Runar to get more likes? He posted the link to his photo (on EDEN page) to his
own personal timeline and asked all his friends to support him.
Not too complicated?
NB! There was also a photo posted into the contest that got more “likes” but unfortunately
this picture was not taken in one of the EDEN Destinations.
What are your ideas of themes for next thematic campaigns?
Please send your thoughts to editor of EDEN SoMe Newsletter aivar.ruukel@gmail.com

“My Park. My Passion. My Story.” is the motto
for the European Day of Parks promoted by the

passion about nature, about their park!
EDEN Destinations that are not located on protected areas
are welcome to introduce their closest nature areas or

25th of May opens a new Photo Contest, that will take place on the Facebook.
The theme is "Bicycling in EDEN - European Destinations of Excellence".
Bicycle trips are most probably an activity that is practiced in all EDEN Destinations?
Sponsor for the bicycle photo contest is Kuldiga, Latvia’s oldest EDEN destination.
Thank you Artis for support!

Part of EDEN marketing strategy is to reach out and build relationships with
travel bloggers and journalists. Using only Facebook is not enough to do that.
Twitter is a good tool to go that way.
