7. The Connected Classroom
Frustrated in what I could get students to do for homework
Frustrated with the amount of speaking I could get my
students to do
Result of various experiments going back over nearly 10
years (Peter Schneider/David Kluge)
Practice a speaking activity in the class but do recordings at
home
Trying to find easy technologies that can allow even
technophobic teachers to try out my ideas
Looking at longer recordings ( assessment, e-Portfolios )

12. Speaking using audio tools
The more I connected the class and the homework the
better the students did the recordings.
I can build up a collection of recordings and use them
in an e-Portfolio
Providing feedback can be a problem
Looking into peer feedback/self-evaluation
Students make recordings, evaluate/self evaluate and
choose 2 to put forward for formal assessment.

high levels doing a full PP presentation.
