The leaders follow a three step process of developing the daily standard tasks to check on strategy deployment, installing visual management at the value stream to understand the progress and results, and finally using the Gemba walk to ensure daily progress.

Used by the leaders as a method to support culture, strategy, and
engagement development.
• Support – During the Gemba Walk support the employees by
removing roadblocks and providing necessary resources
• Teach – During the Gemba Walk if employees are unsure of the
strategy, Lean Sigma tool application, controls such as quality,
policies, or required skills then take the time to teach.
• Promote – During the Gemba Walk promote the type of culture
you want in place, continuous improvement, safety, security,
learning organization, teamwork, etc. Remember the best method
of promoting, as a leader, is being the model.
