In its losing bid Japan promised
real-time 3D holographic projections
of World Cup matches, shown in
stadiums around the world.12
Al-Rayyan stadium will do double
duty as a massive screen: a “media
membrane” facade will wrap all
around the outside of the stadium,
showing match coverage.11
