2. What is Personal Styling?
•A personal stylist is a person who typically advises individuals on, for
example, new fashion trends, clothing styles, colors and make-up.
•A personal stylist is a recognized profession not to be confused with a
stylist whose job it is predominantly to manage fashion photoshoots for
leading fashion labels.

•Your hips are larger than your bust and you have a nicely defined waist.
• You have an elegant neck and proportionately slim arms and shoulders.
•You first gain weight in your bottom and legs flowed by your tummy and
upper body.
•Your waist is your best asset so don’t be afraid to show it off.

6. Inverted Triangle Body Shape
•You have a proportionally larger upper body.
•You have broad shoulders, and ample bust and a wide back.
•Your hips are slim and your bottom may have a tendency towards the
flat side.
•Your waist is subtle and you have a tendency to gain weight in your belly
and upper body. Your beautiful, shapely legs are your best asset.

8. Diamond Body Shape
•Your hips are broader than you bust and shoulders and you have
a full midsection.
•You have a tendency to gain weight in you stomach, back, hips
and buttocks.
•Your waist is undefined and the widest part of your frame.
•You carry some weight in your upper legs, but your lower legs are
shapely and one of your most attractive features.
•You also have proportionately slender, shapely arms.

•You have a large bust, narrow hips, and a full midsection.
•You have a tendency to gain weight in your stomach, back and upper
body.
•Your waist is undefined and the widest part of your frame. You also
have a full, shorter neck and full face.
•Your buttocks are somewhat flat and your legs are slender. Your
shapely legs are your best asset.

•Your hips and bust are balanced and your waist is not very defined.
•You probably have a bottom that is more flat than round.
• You tend to gain weight in your torso first and then your upper thighs and
arms.

After my self evaluation, I realized that I am a mixture of an hour glass and
triangle body shape. I gave myself a make over by adding a formal outfit. I
have experimented with my hairstyle here and makeup as well.

19. Do’s and Don'ts for Triangle Body Shape
Do's
•Bring attention upwards by adding some style in your tops.
•Wide-leg or straight pants that don't cling to the thighs
•Wear a darker color so that your legs appear slimmer.
•Use vertical lines for the lower body.
•Straight and flared skirts are the best choices.
•Opt for necklines that are scooped, draped, rounded or squared.
•Choose dresses that are empire or wrap dress.
Don'ts

Complementary Scheme
•Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel are considered to
be complementary colors (example: red and green).

25. Triadic Color Scheme
•A triadic color scheme uses colors that are evenly spaced around the color wheel.

26. Achromatic Color Scheme
•Achromatic means not readily colored by the usual staining agents,
possessing no hue : being or involving black, gray, or white.

28. Make over to a friend
My friend Pooja Srivastava is a Pearl pass out and is currently working as a
designer in a very small firm. She has an hour glass figure but faces
problems while dressing up. She prefers wearing shirts over any attire and
picks anything randomly that doesn’t suit her style. I thought of giving
Pooja a make over session through all the learning I had during my
Personal Styling classes. Since she has an hour glass figure, I decided to
give her a structured dress rather than anything lose. I clubbed the attire
creating focal point with lipstick. Her outfit was complete with a sling bag
and a pair of heels. You can see the difference clearly in her before and
after images.

32. Testimonial
Our fashion industry definitely demands some attention and I believe in the
same but as I lack time, I always end up rushing to office. After this session with
Needhi Dhoker, I feel a bit more confident to wear makeup at work place. It gets
difficult but this time when I wore it, I realized I should start wearing more
colors. Your personality is defined by how you carry yourself and now I am
starting to understand this concept more each day. I am glad I was a part of this
photoshoot. I have fallen for this outfit as well as how I have been styled. Taking
a step forward into this world of beauty now!

Never before this, I knew we could even combine our outfits this way. I think
this method of clubbing tops and pants has made it easier for me to create
looks for daily basis. Its easy, you just have to find two basic pants and tops
that go with both of them. It can increase in numbers as well.

This was just a part of one of our classes but I would still like to add it because the
classes were really interesting and it has actually made me realize the importance of
getting organized. After Nidhi mam’s class, this was the result of my wardrobe.

46. Style Scale
Judith Rasband, Institute Director, is originator of the Style Scale™. "In getting
dressed," states Rasband, "it helps to know that there are differing degrees on a
continuum or scale between dressing up and dressing down—between more formal
dress and casual dress. There's a place on that scale for every personal or
professional style, including casual dress in the workplace.“
There are 4 levels to style scale.
Level 4
This one is the most formal of all known as tailored wherein looks are crisp, dark and
sharp. This shows confidence, stability and higher level of authority. People at the
top post are seen in this attire.
Level 3
Softly tailored is less formal business suit which can be worn without a tie. At this
level, the clothes say influential and dependable, receptive. Worn mostly for
presentations and sale calls.

47. Level 2
Casual Tailored is collared that communicates approachable, helpful but less
influential. This look is perfect for projects and meetings.
Level 1
Untailored is quite casual than rest of the levels. The clothes here communicate
simply responsive and unofficial. Its relaxed and comfortable.
