4. Graduated S.H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1975.Studied architecture at The University of Texas at Austin
from 1975 to 1979. Draftsman and then Project Supervisor at Wingler and Sharp Architects from 1973 to 1982.
Purchased first commercial go-kart rental track in 1982 and have been self-employed since. Built and owned four more go-kart
tracks including one completely portable track and two tracks contracted to the United States Air Force. The portable track, the
only one like it in existance, was engineered, designed, and built by Strickland.
Raced various classses of go-karts beginning in 1982. Highlights of this include winning ten races in a row and the Oklahoma
State Champinship Series in 1984.
Began racing various classes of stock cars at local tracks in 1985, and acquired a first real sponsor, Coca-Cola, at this time.
Ran the Pro-Four Series in the southern United States with Coca-Cola sponsorship from 1988 to 1990. Highlights of this include
winning the Oklahoma State Fair Race in 1999, the Kansas State Fair Race in 1990, and 22 wins in one season in 1988.
Founded Fast Lane Engineering in 1991. The company grew to eight full time employees in a new 8,000 square foot complex
that housed a complete machine shop, sheet metal shop, tubing fabrication shop, and welding shop. About one complete
racecar per week was manufactured as well as components. The company was also a warehouse distributor for many product
lines including Goodyear, Hoosier, Fel-Pro, Lunati, Weld Wheel, Wiseco, and Dzus. Cars and mail order parts were shipped
worldwide, some notable accounts were in Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and England.
The majority of Fast Lane Engineering's work was in the drag racing industry but projects were as diverse as sand racers and
Bonneville land speed attempts with lawn mower motors. From 1991 to 1999 the company won seven National Championships
in N.H.R.A. Drag Racing and two in I.H.R.A. Drag Racing as a chassis builder. Sales were over one million U.S. dollars for the
year of 1998 and the company was given Strickland's wife of 17 years in a divorce settlement in 1999. It was then sold to a
larger mail order company shortly after.
Worked with fellow Wichita Falls, Texas native Eddie Hill in 1992 and 1993 doing research and development, fabrication, and
consultation to win the N.H.R.A. Top Fuel World Championship for 1993. A place in history was also secured in the same
season with the first four second run of a fuel dragster.
Won the N.H.R.A. Super Comp National Championship in 1997 as a car owner and with Pennzoil sponsorship.
Founded Strickland Racing in 1998 and ran a limited schedule in the Nascar Southwest Tour Series with Texaco sponsorship.
Ran five races in 2000 and five in 2001 in the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series with Nabisco sponsorship.
Ran 39 races from 2002 to 2006 in the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series and the Nascar Busch Series with driver Blake
Mallory and various single race sponsors. Acquired a full Nascar credential for Blake in the second year. Ran the Nascar
Busch West Series in 2004 with Blake Mallory and David Eshelman sponsored by Fleet Refinishing and Rush Truck Sales.
Ran two races in the Nascar Mexico Corona Series in 2007 sponsored by Karens Car Collection. Currently anticipating another
season in the Nascar Mexico Corona Series.
Member of various civic organizations including Wichita falls Jaycees, Gold Coat Ambassadors, Wichita Falls Board of
Commerce and Industry, The Sterling Society, Pro Players Inc., and Sports Business Network.
5. 1992-1995 Go-karts/Four Cycle-11 Wins, 14 Top 5’s, Mesquite Speedway
Champion. *Also, crewed on Super Late Model Team.
1996 IMCA Modified/Dirt Oval- 4 Wins in first season. Rookie of the Year
Cowtown Speedway.
1997 Legends Semi Pro Division-8 Wins, 17 Top 10’s. Texas Motor Speedway
Thursday Night Stampede Champion, Texas Region Young Lions Champion,
10th at Asphalt Nationals in Charlotte (110 entries).
1998 Legends Semi Pro Division-Asphalt (7 Wins and 7 Top 10’s) Dirt (9 Wins
and 3 Top 10’s). Texas Region Young Lions Champion, Oklahoma State
Fairgrounds Champion, 8th out of 130 entries at Nationals in Charlotte.
1999-2000 American Race Truck Series/Asphalt Oval- 1 Win (5 Poles, 2 Top
5’s, 3 Track Records. Crewman for NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
2001 IMCA Sprint Car-National Rookie Points Champion, 4 feature Wins, 3rd in
National Points overall. Also, successfully competed in World of Outlaws and
ASCS Sprint Car events.
2002-2005 44 races with Strickland Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series, NASCAR Busch Series, and the NASCAR Busch West Series.
Acquired a full credential with NASCAR in record time.
2007 NASCAR Mexico Corona Series

Ysenia is still a Mexican Citizen although she has lived in the U.S. since she was
young. She is a translator for American Airlines and speaks seven languages. She has
a full NASCAR credential for timing and scoring.
