This document discusses sexting among teens and its consequences. It defines sexting as sending or forwarding sexually explicit photos, videos, or messages from a mobile phone. Data shows a sharp rise in teen cell phone usage from 18% in 2004 to 59% in 2009. Surveys found that 71% of teens sent sexual content to boyfriends and 67% to girlfriends. The top reasons teens sext are that it's seen as fun/flirtatious (66%), due to pressure (51%), or as a "sexy" present (60%).
