Malcolm has more than 30 years of successful leadership and delivery in management consulting,
programme and project management, and corporate management in NZ and overseas. He
provides programme and project leadership for clients' end-to-end business change and solution
delivery. He was a specialist financial services sector management consultant based in London for
nearly twenty years. In recent years, his industry experience has included public sector,
healthcare, media, engineering and managed services. He has held senior corporate roles at CSC
(UK) and Atos Origin International, two of the largest IT services and systems integration
companies in the world.

Career history
2016-2014 Order of St John, Programme Manager,
Clinical Operations
Responsible for designing and leading an integrated portfolio of major change initiatives and
projects for St John’s ambulance, clinical and emergency communications operations, including:
End-to-end responsibility for constructing and relocating St John’s (24*7*365) Auckland 111
emergency control centre including a new training facility, which project was completed on
time, under budget and without service interruption;
Setting up the 111 Clinical Hub, introducing clinical telephone advice and nursing triage for
lower acuity cases, conducting the initial twelve month proof of concept across the greater
Auckland region and preparing the national roll-out change management and communications
plan.
Introducing new processes and technologies for the electronic capture of patient and clinical
information, ambulance dispatch and exchanging of data with healthcare partners, that have
been implemented successfully throughout the national frontline ambulance fleet;
Expanding the three Clinical Control Centres around the country, delivering upgraded facilities,
equipment and technologies, to improve the performance, reliability and resilience of the
national ambulance service’s critical emergency systems;

Delivering senior management consultancy and change leadership services to major clients
around New Zealand, including:
Interim CIO, Order of St John, led the national ambulance service’s ICT and enterprise PMO
functions for more than four months between permanent appointees.
Programme management consultant, Immigration NZ, prepared and delivered the
programme management plan for the delivery phases of Vision 2015, a major in-flight
programme for the automation of visa services.
Management consultant, Ministry of Justice, (in three weeks) prepared and delivered the
government procurement RFP for Family Dispute Resolution services for the Ministry’s Family
Courts change programme.
Project manager, Ministry of Justice, led the recovery, stabilisation and delivery of a rostering &
scheduling project for district courts.
Programme manager, Yellow Pages, planned and mobilised the business transformation
programme for New Zealand’s premier directory & media services company.
Interim CIO, Southern Response, managed the technology aspects of separating and
establishing the earthquake claims division of a major insurance company as a government-
owned company and delivered the organisation into independent operations without any
disruption for the customers.

Worked on the M&A team for Atos Origin’s acquisition of Sema Consulting, expanding the Group

the expanded organisation, including:
As management team member for Atos Origin UK Systems Integration, was responsible for
organising and delivering an extensive corporate transformation and restructuring initiative.
As Head of Resource Management for Atos Origin UK Systems Integration, was responsible for
the strategic and operational deployment of nearly 2,500 client-facing staff and contractors.
As Group Vice President – Global IT, established a new global IT division and conceived,
designed and deployed an integrated global IT strategy and architecture across the Group that
included global and international tools and business processes addressing HR management, ERP,
global collaborative working, knowledge management and resource management.
As a M&A team member, led development of the IT Transitional Services Agreement in the
M&A team for Atos Origin’s acquisition of Sema businesses, covering 40+ countries and bringing
in 22,000 additional people.

seven years’ collaboration, the bank progressed from almost wholly manual operations to
online, real-time branch and electronic banking throughout their national operations.

Led the acquisition and set-up of emergency investment management and investment
