2. Additional Information
Miscellaneous:
• Cognos Analytics is an upgrade to Cognos Business Intelligence (v8, v10)
• All the existing content will be brought forward
• Traditional 10.2.2 studios are available (now called companion Applications)
• No license changes( free to download from Passport Adv for existing customer)
• Existing reports will be upgraded in “non-interactive” mode by default
• Switching to “interactive mode” will remove all JavaScripts and Prompt APIs
Cognos Workspace:
• Still available but opens in new browser tab
• It is announced for deprecation
• Reusable parts are being included in dashboards and reporting
Installation Options:
• Custom: same as previous versions
• Ready to run: Provides a good way to get up and running without any additional configuration or third party softwares
Infrastructure:
• Gateway component is optional, no dependency on web server
• Potential additional load on servers as users interact with content
Schedule and Subscriptions:
• All schedules and jobs are maintained
• Users can now subscribe to reports
• The report will be delivered to their notification center on a schedule
