2. INTRODUCTION
• Formula One (also known as Formula 1 or F1) is the highest class of international auto racing for
single-seater formula racing cars sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile
(FIA)
• A Formula One season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, which take place
worldwide on purpose-built circuits and closed public roads.
• The results of each race are evaluated using a points system to determine two annual World
Championships: one for drivers, the other for constructors. Each driver must hold a valid Super
Licence, the highest class of racing licence issued by the FIA.
• Formula One cars are the fastest regulated road-course racing cars in the world, owing to very
high cornering speeds achieved through the generation of large amounts of
aerodynamic downforce.
3. Formula 1 Cars
Formula 1 cars with
time have grown in size
and there has been
massive evolution in
their chassis design,
aerodynamics and
speed.

6. • A Formula One Grand Prix event spans a weekend. It begins with two free practice
sessions on Friday (except in Monaco, where Friday practices are moved to
Thursday), and one free practice on Saturday. Additional drivers (commonly known
as third drivers) are allowed to run on Fridays, but only two cars may be used per
team, requiring a race driver to give up his seat. A qualifying session is held after
the last free practice session. This session determines the starting order for the
race on Sunday.

7. Formula1 Championship
A Formula One constructor is the entity
credited for designing the chassis and the
engine. If both are designed by the same
company, that company receives sole
credit as the constructor (e.g. Ferrari). If
they are designed by different companies,
both are credited, and the name of the
chassis designer is placed before that of
the engine designer (e.g. McLaren-
Mercedes). All constructors are scored
individually, even if they share either
chassis or engine with another constructor
8. Every team in Formula One must run two cars in every session in a Grand Prix
weekend, and every team may use up to four drivers in a season. Most modern
drivers are contracted for at least the duration of a season, with driver changes
taking place in-between seasons, in comparison to early years where drivers
Formula1 Drivers
often competed at an ad hoc
basis from race to race. Each
competitor must be in the
possession of a FIA Super
Licence to compete in a
Grand Prix
9. Formula1 Champions
A total of 33 separate drivers have
won the World Drivers'
Championship, with Michael
Schumacher and Lewis
Hamilton holding the record for most
championships with seven. Lewis
Hamilton achieved the most race
wins, too, in 2020.Drivers from the
United Kingdom have been the most
successful in the sport, with 18
championships among 10 drivers,
and 278 wins among 19 drivers.

10. Formula1 Regulation
The race teams take advantage of this by placing this ballast at the extreme bottom of the chassis,
thereby locating the centre of gravity as low as possible in order to improve handling and weight
transfer.
Modern Formula One cars are mid-engined,
hybrid, open cockpit, open wheel single-seaters.
The chassis is made largely of carbon-fibre
composites, rendering it light but extremely stiff
and strong. The whole car, including the driver but
not fuel, weighs only 740 kg (1,630 lb) – the
minimum weight set by the regulations. If the
construction of the car is lighter than the minimum,
it can be ballasted up to add the necessary weight.
11. Best F1 moments of 2020
Lando Norris gets his first F1
podium at the age of 22 years for
Mclaren F1.
Max Verstappen wins in Austria for Redbull
Racing.
12. Sir Lewis Hamilton becomes 7time world
champion by winning the Turkish Grand
Prix for Mercedes.
Romain Grosjean survives from a
horrific crash at Bahrain Grand Prix
after being in fire for more than 15
seconds.
Miracles do happen!
13. Deserved Victories!
Pierre Gasly gets his redemption after getting
demoted from Redbull Racing as he won the
Italian Grand Prix for Scuderia Alpha Tauri
marking his first victory in the sport.
Sergio Perez clinches his first career victory
after being in the sport for more than 10
years for Racing Point Formula1 Team.
14. Formula 1 is a sport of Speed and Strategy. Just like
any other sport it also has it’s high points with new
champions and grand prix winners but it also has
its low points with the high speed accidents
involved. But the most important thing is that this
sport never stops. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic,
the formula1 2020 season went ahead after some
delays, and it was the first sport to bring back fans
in live attendance. 2021 is going to be a big year
formula1 as it is going to be the last season before
regulation change. Formula1 2021 season has a lot
in bag with 23 races and we never know what might
happen at any second in this sport, because Race
winning decisions are made in split seconds only.
