6. The Vigan Gown
-Made by Tippi Ocampo
-Inspired by the lacy wrought-
iron grillwork often found in
Philippine colonial houses in
Vigan, the very first gown
designed by Tippi Ocampo,
used copper-wire fashioned
into curly-cues as beadwork,
along with hundreds of
miniscule black hook-and-
eyes which allowed the gown
to be taken apart and
transformed into different
styles.

- This “trapo” gown
was inspired by the
rags found in markets
that were pieced &
sewn together from
scraps of various
fabrics.
